Congratulations Amy and Kevin, you are our 2014 tour champions. How does it feel?

It just feels amazing. I can't quite believe it. Thank you so much to all of you who voted, and to the judges for being so kind! Most of all though, thank you to the wonderful Kevin for being not only my dance partner, but my best friend for these last four months. It's been incredible.

A huge congratulations to Amy and Kevin. If you could now take to the floor for your last dance to (Tour) The World by Take That, as we crown you Strictly Come Dancing tour champions.

Julie's vote was surprisingly very low. I did think she'd beat Andrew at least. Mind you, it's not as bad as Faizon Love getting 0% of the vote in week two!

...for all getting involved in some way, whether it was by voting, judging or posting along. (I think I've named everyone; if I missed you out, I'd appreciate it if you tell me in the next half hour so I can edit this )

I'm not planning to do another "big" series like this for a good while - maybe at the end of next Summer. I do have another game lined up though between now and then. It's a lot less effort for me to do, but it does take the form of Back To The Ballroom. I'll post more details about it in this thread in the run up to it, and I'm thinking about starting it sometime in mid-late November (which means it'll probably begin by February !)

So yea, thank you everyone for persevering these last three months

The BBC have today announced that Strictly Come Dancing will be returning to our screens sooner than we expect - in the form of a run of mini-series.

They revealed that between now and next Autumn - when series four of the pro-celebrity dance contest will air - up to five mini-series will be run, with a variety of themes. Some of these themes include an A-list theme, featuring some of the most well known celebrities right now, and a 1994 theme, which will include celebrities of that time, and some who are sadly no longer with us.

Each mini-series will be much more condensed than the longer series'. Eliminations will be decided by a combination of the judges' scores and an estimate of the public vote. The public vote will be officially introduced in the latter stages of each mini-series, with the final outcome being decided by the viewers alone.

The first mini-series is expected to begin airing later this month, with more details to be announced in the run up to its launch.
