Radio 5 doing a great job talking about Holland, even played the commentary for the Bergkamp goal against Argentina.

O'Neill loves the sound of his own voice

Obviously Martin O'Neill would have done it before van Gaal :roll eyes:

Agree the goalkeepers should be respected. but much of the time they haven't been.

I was at that game he's talking about, the Palace v Leicester Play-Off Final of 1996.

Messi doesn't like right as captain. He looks too quiet and nervous and unable to motivate. Stadium thankfully look pretty full through.
One thing at least Fifa had the semis at evening time Europe rather than eight Brazil time and Midnight here.

It is a bit like saying you want Sussex to win the world cup

My prediction 3-1 or 3-2 to Argentina. Would be more happy with it the other way round. Despite Robben.

So you think the few seconds between seeing the 'empty' stadium behing Matt and then a live shot of it the crowd doubled?

Just worked out what the Dutch anthem reminds me of...O Little Town Of Bethlehem.

Was that the one where David Hopkin scored the only goal in the last minute to send Palace up?

Edit: Nope, that was the following year - this was the one where Steve Claridge scored the winner in the last minute of extra time to send Leicester up.

Good to see both sides have told FIFA to do one and are wearing their proper shorts

Are there no words to the Argentine anthem? Or do the players just don't sing it.
Is the Ad break missing the silence. Very disrespectful if so.

I've always called it Holland from the time I lived there, and don't see the need to say Netherlands.

Come on Argentina. I'm so excited for another Germany/Argentina World Cup Final showdown. It's time avenge the bias you faced in 1990.

Love the Argentinian fans "yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo" version of their anthem, especially the bit where they start jumping!

Makes our dirge somewhat uninspiring.

I get your point but presumably people actually from that country not only have no problem with it but actually call themselves Holland themselves. If it's good enough for them I guess it's good enough for me also.
