Fifa's official name is the Netherlands( as seen from their graphics just now and every so often when they flash up the score) but ITV for some reason call them Holland.
The stadium is very noisy.

True but I'm confused why ITV are calling it Holland. When I was in South Africa working at the World Cup we were told it had to be Netherlands

Townsend annoys me, but after hearing Lawrenson and his camp smart arse comments, i actually don't mind him as much. Although that will probably change again after 20 minutes

We just sometimes use British naming conventions.
Cote D'Ivoire is the offical name but ITV & I think also the BBC use IVO.

Same with names on shirts. Our commentators sometimes use a different name than which is on the shirt.

Nice to see that both teams aren't standing around waiting for a train.

Holland is just a huge area in The Netherlands, if you lived outside of Holland, i doubt you would want your Country called Holland

Not to me it wasn't...a proper game is when both teams play and take part, and not stand around. One of those German goals was questionable too.

What I'm watching now is a proper game

Kuyt is the 8 minute man of the match so far
