What's it like on the set of Eastenders? Any prima-donnas?

I was wondering if anyone has any inside information on the set of EE.

Are there real life rivalries and bad blood between actors, is there really any effort made to integrate with each other, or are they just prima-donnas who do their bit in front of the cameras, and then leave for the pub?

And do you think the EE actors actually watch the show, or just use it as a way of paying the bills?

I can imagine it being EXTREMELY cliquey, and for adult actors in particular it must be hard to fit in without some kind of cold shoulders.

There's been plenty of tales of diva antics in the past, with Jessie Wallace being the worst culprit

Being a frequent contractor at Elstree studios I get to see a fair bit, so I can confirm and deny certain things.

June Brown is an absolute diva, she won't come on set until she receives a full body massage from a 'tall greek man between 5'11 and 6'1 in height, with chiseled features and a sexy oiled up body' (her words not mine).

She also requires several decorative animal statues to be placed at certain points in her dressing room, all angled to be facing away from her chair in the centre of the room. One intern dared to turn one 6 degrees to the left. He hasn't worked in showbiz since.

Havent heard of any recently. Historically there have been.
Its clear that some actors watch the show & some dont. I suspect they'll watch for their own "big" episodes, as I know Adam Woodyatt watched his big episodes around Easter. Also - with social media, its very easy to get instant feedback these days.
I suspect for actors this is both a good & a bad thing.

I also think if you're a showbiz diva theres no-where to hide these days. Rumours spread like wildfire, and with social media, its not just the confines of the showbiz world.

Wow, but that doesn't surprise me much actually.

I also think McFadden must be a bit of a primadonna. Cant imagine him being very welcoming to new people, or wanting to integrate.

Matt (Anthony moon) on McFadden:

“I’m lucky because Steve McFadden is my mentor and he’s
been showing me the ropes. He sat me down and told me all
the dos and don’ts. Basically he said you have to behave
and keep focused.”

DEXTER ACTOR has said the same
