I have no expertise in TVs at all. I had a TV with freesat and freeview professionally fitted on my wall, with the wires buried into the wall, unfortunately the roof aerial (not sure of proper name) wire was not buried by the fitter!! At first not over concerned but I miss freeview for cartain progs. Is there any way that I can connect to my freeview? I have a multi HDMI switch with just Blue Ray pluged in . Is there any type of adaptor? that I could plug the tv aerial into one side and hdmi lead into the other

No, but you can do it with the satellite feed - check out:

Don't understand the problem. You had a TV before with Freesat and Freeview. So you must have had an aerial even though it's cable was not buried.

I presume you have a TV now for your blu ray. So connect your not buried aerial cable to your current TVs aerial socket. Then tune it as per instruction book.

There is no adapter to convert aerial feed to HDMI.

Did you read the link given by Nigel Goodwin?
Nothing to do with HDMI but a possible solution to the OPs problem

Where exactly does the aerial cable go to?

The device linked to by Nigel is intended to be mounted somewhere close to where both the satellite dish and TV aerial are mounted. You then connect short cables from dish and aerial to the combiner and run a single long cable down to the TV and satellite receiver where you split the two signals out again.

If the TV aerial cable runs down to where the TV is located then it won't be necessary to use a combiner. You simply plug the cable into the back of the telly.OK it won't be concealed like the other leads but if you can put up with that it will solve the problem.

And even if you did use a combiner and diplexer combination on the existing satellite cable to get the TV aerial signal to the TV location you still have the problem of getting a cable from the diplexer to the aerial socket on the TV. So either way you'll probably still end up with a cable running visibly up the wall.

It was a triplexer, I did read it, and I can't see how it converts a satellite signal to HDMI. You need a satellite receiver to do that.

I suspect there may be a certain confusion creeping in here. The OP mentions Freeview and Freesat, but in relation to the TV. ie a TV with a satellite tuner, not necessarily the same thing as Freesat.

And I suspect there is also an assumption that this satellite input is connected to a dish. Hence a cable to combine satellite and TV signals onto to feed down to the TV. But the OP does not mention this.

So I think we need the OP to return and describe exactly what is cabled up and to where. We know there is an aerial and it has a cable attached but no idea where the free end of said cable ends up.

It might end up in the room with the TV but not have been buried in the wall along with the other cables. If so then apart from the aesthetic considerations and assuming the cable will reach, it should be possible to plug it directly into the back of the telly. Getting at the socket may be the harder task depending on how much room there is behind the TV and where the socket is.
