Hello candidates, and welcome to the first boardroom!

Are you all here? How did you find the first task?

Hello, Lord Sugar.

I'm here, and we found it quite enjoyable. Food is something I'm very passionate about, so I'm glad to have been PM, with a team of people who gelled really well together, and are all very nice people.

Good evening, Lord Sugar.

I enjoyed the task. I hadn't really planned on stepping up to be Project Manager on Task 1, but I'm glad I did. I felt that we all worked well together as a team, and created something that we all believed in. I'm a little worried that the people we were pitching to didn't seem to believe in it as much as we did, but just have to wait now, I guess.

Hello, Lord Sugar.

The first task was interesting... to say the least. Things definitely didn't occur in the way that I expected them to, it was a learning curve for definite.

Hello Lord Sugar. I am here as well.

I found the first task great. The concept of the task was really interesting, and really brought out my creative side. Also I could not have asked to have worked with a better team. We all cooperated well and the product was sound in my opinion. Our project manager led us all in a systematic and organized manner. It was a great experience for myself.

Hello, Lord Sugar.

Here till about 9ish.

I found the first task quite well. I think our team had some good ideas for this task.

Hi there.

Even though food isn't my forte at all, I enjoyed the task and thought our final product was good. It was just nice being a part of DSA again and meeting/working with both new people and people I've known for a long time.

Evening Lord Sugar.

Despite the loss of my internet at the worse time, I found this to be quite an impressive task. It allowed me to have a good taste of what being here is like for me and others.

Okay, lets start with Team Aptitude then. Arran stepped up as PM, how did you come around to that decision? Arran, how do you think your stint as PM went? To the rest of the team, how did you find Arran as a PM?

Hiyaaa. I thought the first task went fine overall really as we all worked quite well together when necessary, it was a bit rushed towards the end though, we could've done with getting things sorted before the final day.

I would love for you to elaborate on this, just because 'interesting' could account for many different stances.

I think I was organized, and really tried to co-ordinate the team together. And despite accidentally mucking up the pitch (on my part), I feel we all did our best.

Unsurprisingly, no one was that keen to jump into the position as it was of course the first task. Arran stated that he was passionate about food and had the drive required to lead us to a first win, so it was a pretty unanimous decision.

Arran is a nice person and I can wholeheatedly say that. However, as a Project Manager I found him to be disappointing, there was a lack of cohesion on our team and information was never passed on. Unless you specifically asked, you weren't 'in the know' about how the work of others' was coming along. There wasn't much motivation, I don't think. It was the first task and I understand it must've been hard but I really don't think Arran displayed the 'passion' he claimed to have.

Hi, David!

There was a lack of cohesion within the group, I feel. There was never any sense of team spirit and I found that, although we completed the task, we left things very last minute. The first time I saw the pitch was when it was posted, and, I didn't really see that as being the right approach to take.

Arran stepped up to be PM and was really passionate about it so as a team, we decided to let him be it.

I don't think Arran was a good PM. At times he was unorganized with the parts that were sent to him, and i don't really feel like he led the team after the first night. I would more describe him as a team member. There was no opportunity for the team to read the full pitch fully before it was posted as everyone was in a rush posting it as people weren't online and that led to the pitch being posted in the wrong order.

Personally I thought Arran was a very efficient Project Manager who brought out the best of our team, listened to all of ideas and encouraged us very well. He also delegated tasks appropriately and to everyone - for example, Emma who enjoys design did the layout of the restaurant and how the restaurant works. As Naruto points out, Arran was also quite passionate about the idea and he did step up immediately to become Project Manager.

There was a reason that we were practically finished by the first day.

Interesting, definitely a mixed response.

In terms of your idea, I see you went with an exotic theme and decided to include four different type of cuisines. Whose idea was this? and what made you decide to go with it?

And also the same questions to Team Inspired regarding the PM - How did you all find George as a PM? How did you find your stint as PM for this task, George, and what made you decide to step up?

The exotic idea was Roxie's, whilst the mixed dishes was Naruto's. I think that Roxie was so passionate and made such a convincing case that we went with it. I decided the four countries and did all of the researching of the foods, and menu design.

I'm afraid I cannot answer this, Lord Sugar. I was offline for a few hours on Friday night having been in the mindset that the idea we were going along with was very different, then, when I returned the wheels had very much been set in motion for this idea. To this day I'm afraid I do not know where the idea stemmed from, although I distinctly recall inquiring about it.

I have to disagree with part of this. Yes we could have seen the pitch earlier. However, the group was very much together and cohesive throughout the task. There were no major disagreements and there was a lot of team spirit in terms of encouraging each other.

And also the same questions to Team Inspired regarding the PM - How did you all find George as a PM?

I thought George was a good project manager throughout. He led by delegation and discussion and tried to make most decisions based on team consensus. I liked working with him.

To start off with we only had half the team, so we brainstormed ideas for a while before we actually chose a Project Manager. When we had more people, I stepped up because I felt I was getting quite into it, and also I felt like I was the one who was naturally taking control within the group.

I actually think I was the only person who was willing to put themselves forward. Steve, Stacey, Mitch and Shadi were all either unwilling or unable to lead this task, so apart from possibly Zak (who didn't arrive until after I'd been appointed, so I don't know) I think I was the only person who was up for it. I did the best job I could.

The idea for exotic and tropical came from Roxie. I think the four dishes idea came from me as a attempt to market families etc, but overall everyone was happy with it and everyone contributed in some way to the final idea.

I think everyone went with it, is because the brief stated to find a gap in the market, and that is exactly what this is. It is unique and creative, and not normally something seen in the food industry.
