Having grown up watching Les Dennis, on various programmes, I am finding his character hard to get used to, as I automatically see him as Les not Michael

I keep expecting him to say 'Our survey says'

I understand what you mean but after a while it might not be as bad! I remember when Shane Richie joined EE and Keith Duffy joined Corrie I felt the same but over time, I got used to the characters

I am finding it very difficult to see him as an ex con villan.

I want someone to say to him "if its there I will give you the money myself"

I dont want to see any romance scenes with Gail, I fear I will loose the gift of sight if I have to watch those two slobbering over each other.

Les and Carla would be better. Les and Todd Hitler would be better

Just said the same to my partner!

I can't take to him, he's Les Dennis, not Michael Rodwell

I know what you mean OP. However, the more Michael is onscreen, the more Les disappears

I absolutely LOVE the Michael and Gail relationship.
I find it so utterly sweet.

I really hope that they get together - they were made for each other.

Plus it'll piss off the family which cant be a bad thing.

LOVE MICHAEL !!

I agree. Loved Gail last night talking about the plant he gave her and saying with a straight face "I'm taking it up to bed"

Yes, that was comic timing !!

They look smitten with one another.
Its really nice to have some sweet scenes amongst all the murder accusations and stuff.

Sweet scenes ? I was reaching for the sick bucket.

With their Mum marrying a Murderer and her relationships with shady characters and conmen i dont blame her sons from having a quiet word with Les

Yes, I think Les is doing a great job and I already see him as Michael now. (Tbh, if it wasn't for DS endlessly repeating the same 3 strap lines on a loop, I'd have totally forgotten it was Les Dennis at all by now).

I already quite like him. He's settled in well, IMO.

I agree! There's nothing sweet about either of them, and the two of them together? Just yuck!

Luckily, we all view things differently.

I think it's important to remember that Des Lennis, the character, is a vicious criminal with a violent history of terrorizing women of a certain age in their own homes. Flirty Gail being the way she is, is already planning the wedding in her own head, right down to Nick looking on jealously as Des takes her up the aisle.

Michael has a violent history? What about David? By 18, he sent cards from a murderer terrorizing his family, caused Jason to fall from the balcony and injure himself, then pushed his own mother down a flight of stairs. He also caused his niece to end up in hospital by stashing drugs in her doll.

Michael looked more terrified of Gail than she did of him when he attempted to rob the house, some violent criminal lol.
