Really looking forward to EE exploring this - what could happen?

FGS....why cant he just serve the booze and be the link guy?

We really need at least one likable bod on the show

It might be a bit like Masood - a likeable guy but can be nasty if he wants to be. I think with Mick it will only be in the most extreme circumstances.

Could his aggression be aimed at Dean with whatever is going to happen with Linda?

So they're just going to turn him into the sterotypical loose cannon character Danny Dyer always plays, then.

There are no surprises in this interview. Mick is a sleeping lion of a character that will for the most part be laid back and relaxed, but threaten his family and he will defend them to the end. That's something that's been obvious right from the start of his time on the show.

I think this stuff with Dean and Linda will really push his limits as a character. It should be good stuff.

Loving DD but I hope for one that Jo doesn't return.

I couldn't stand anymore of the Max and Tanya show.... surely thats dead and buried and one of the reasons people became tired with the show?!

I agree. I don't see why this would stop him being likeable? Whatever it is he does the viewers might be on his side. Or if not it'll certainly make Mick an interesting, more well rounded character than just 'nice guy', not that there's anything wrong with that of course but totally nice guys don't tend to be the really big/memorable characters in soaps do they?

Roy Cropper and Steve MacDonald might genuinely be the only true exceptions.

Agreed, Roy especially (I shamefully forgot about him) but Steve too, even though I remember when he was a bit of a bad 'un back in the day (who did he marry just for their money and treated her like crap? I can remember her face but not her name) but he's lovely now - and can do better than roly eyes, foldy arms

Have you noticed old foldy arms seems to have strangely mellowed in recent episodes?

There should be no cracks in Mick and Linda's relationship, they work well together.

Everyone in EE has a dark side.. One of their biggest clichés.

We've already seen small outbursts of the more agressive side of his personality coming through, once when he left Stan out in the street, when he threatened Carl and then again when he decked Dean for what he said to Shirley.

A deep aggression like Masood has portrayed is much more intriguing than a one dimensional baddie imo.

With regards to Mick/Linda's marriage, I think exploring the cracks within that will be pretty interesting, no relationship is perfect.

Danny said right at the start that there is a lot of anger underneath that will come out so its not a big surprise although no doubt there will be some who will be saying typical ee changing his character. I can't wait to see where they go with this. I don't think it will result in mick and Linda parting because they were adamant that shouldn't happen also neither will have an affair.

I remember Micks first scene on Christmas Eve (or was it Boxing Day) taking Phil's call to buy the Vic. He came across as an unlikable thug almost like a Phil the next generation.

But quickly you see him in a different light when he knew he'd basically shafted Alfie out the Vic, needed his extra supply of booze. Yea he was in a spot and needed to be nice but he was genuine and you could see there's more to Mick than this tough man cockney image.

He's a nice bloke but at the same time not someone you want to cross.
