Never have I seen a team so reliant on one bloke, even the raising of the shirt was like the white flag. I fear for Neymar if they are so dependant on him

Thiago Silva was the bigger loss tonight. He's held that defence together throughout the tournament. Without him they were a shambles.

Agreed. Since he got booked Brazil had a problem.

This game showed that they didn't have any solution to it.

But, as was shown by all the media "experts" everything was Neymar Neymar Neymar, and the real problem was almost ignored.

Brazil's whole defence was basically Silva and their whole attack Neymar. The rest were just random people from the street (not Brazilian streets).

Brazil lost as soon as they came up against a pretty decent team.

that's not really true however

all of the back 4 that played last night have champions league winners medals , so they are hardly mugs

You do wonder how so many average players have ended up getting into the Brazillian side. In the past it used to be only the creme de la creme that got to wear that yellow shirt.

The likes of Gustavo (Nani with a moustache) and Bernard who looks like a primary school kid who won a competition to be there.

I guess none were leaders in defence. It's some other guy at the club who pulls things together.

not disagreeing , the lack of organisation was poor , I was just saying that all 4 are quality players, maicon maybe a bit past his best admittedly, and have been pretty successful at the highest level that was all

This. All that happened last night was that they got found out.

I agree. Neymar is a big asset and yes they missed him a lot. But I think Silva was more of a key in holding the team together.

Brazil lost the match on wayward defending and a structureless formation, it had nothing to do with Neymar. I found the booing of Fred to be strange, it wasn't his fault Dante, Luiz, Luis Gustavo and Fernandinho were completely hopeless. He put in an anonymous performance like he had for all the World Cup, yet he wasn't getting boo'd in the other matches.

Like I say, he was anonymous all tournament. If you're going to boo someone, boo Luiz. I guess he got away with it because he sang the national anthem with more passion. Fred wasn't responsible for conceding 7 goals.

As has been said, Silva's value will have sky-rocketed!!

Fred is the worst striker I have ever seen play for any team. I can't actually believe he is Brazilian. I think he is masquerading in a Brazilian shirt.

However, I agree with you David Luiz was almost single-handedly responsible for at least 5 of those goals. In fact, I think the best analysis of the game came from a Brazilian newspaper that rated ALL the Brazilian players 0 (out of 10). They were all terrible.

Fred just isn't very good. That's down to the manager for selecting him.

A number of others last night were simply spineless and more deserving of being booed.

If Luiz hadn't been instructed to push forward and abandon his defensive responsibilities, then that has to go down as one of the worst performances by a defender in this WC

That's just Luiz' natural game, that's why Mourinho got rid of him. No positional discipline, not in CB anyway.

David Luiz was by far the worst in that game. Look at the amount of times he was out of position. He left his team mates exposed over and over again. Horrible leadership. PSG must be thinking what have they done.

David Luiz needs a lesson from Fabio Cannavaro. I have not seen a better defender in my lifetime.
