Yes, but you're talking about the label of being a slut, which I agree nobody wants to be attributed with - because it is an unpleasant thing to be called. The actual 'definition' of being a slut, however, is basically someone who enjoys sex and has different sexual partners. There is nothing wrong with that in the slightest. It's just outdated religious beliefs and an ingrained misogynistic streak in society which has made it something we're meant to be ashamed of.

If the typical father thinks his daughter is a slut for sleeping around and his son is fine for sowing his wild oats then that would be that fathers problem and not his daughters.

What a weird concept, fathers sitting about thinking of their children's sex lives.

I'm not talking about a father thinking about his daughter in bed with someone, I'm talking about a father who is more strict with his daughter than he is with his son.

Because he is generally more fearful of his daughter going with different men than he would be about his son going with different women. Maybe its because she's female, or maybe because it's to do with pregnancy, but that's always been the case.

This is all about doublé standards in society, something I doubt will ever change.

I agree with your post, but I think aswell that although there may not be anything actually wrong with sleeping with loads of different people....I think if that were to happen to me (which it has done in the past!) then I think I'd be wise enough not to bandy that information about, as when all is said and done, there is one rule for men and another for women isn't there?

Although having said that, I imagine, that if a woman (say over 25 yrs old) in one week slept with ten different men, odds are that she'll feel awful with herself and a bit cheap, whereas a man would feel the complete opposite!

A few things,

I don't think a guy like Johnny would go for someone like Gianluca, I just don't see it. Johnny could pull a far more handsome, like minded guy and seems the sort that would wait for such a thing rather than settling for the first person he sees at a pride event. Johnny wouldn't go to pride anyway and Gianluca was punching way above his weight.

Also what makes people think they had anal sex in those brief moments they were alone together. Loosing your virginity doesn't have to be penetrative, especially when it comes to men as there's no physical change that comes with the term. In my opinion it's more about having a first real sexual experience rather than something which has to be penetrative.

And lastly, the slut thing being discussed. If you are happy to sleep around and do it with anyone, anywhere then that's your prerogative. We are humans though and unlike animals we have a conscience and it's this factor that comes into question when people use the term 'slut'. You're being judged not only because you merely spread it around but because of the choices you choose to make and more generally what sort of person that makes you. Personally I don't just sleep with anyone for a quick fix, I believe being picky and saving those type of experiences for people you want to share them with is far more rewarding, both for the experience itself and your own personal self-regard.

It's very interesting, I was reading an article about Madonna on Mail Online, many of the comments were calling her an "old trollop" or basically calling her a slut. Yet when I've read about bands such as Led Zeppelin having sex with groupies the comments tend to be "ah back when we had proper rockers, those boys knew how to have fun". The double standards are ridiculous- a man can have multiple sex partners but a woman can't.

That's just one example but it gives an insight into the mentality of some people.
