Was there any point in Oscar scoring Brasil's only goal in their semi-final against Germany when Brasil knew they were out of the game at 7-0 ?

Neuer's reaction said it all.

Isn't it time consolation goals were scrapped?

True...

From the German teams reaction you would think they were 1 nil down with seconds to go, not 7-1 up....

Was there any point in Germany scoring all those goals?

That's not untrue, what's the point in even existing?

Yeah, Oscar declared "next goal winner!" just before scoring.

Brazil are actually in the final.

How do you know this is a real existence, perhaps you're just having a very long dream.

I feel sorry for Oscar, it would have been the winning goal if the defence hadn't let in 7 at the other end. In the future he won't even be able to mention that he scored in a WC semi final, as he will be reminded of the result.

I agree. Once you're losing anything more than 3-0 you shouldn't be allowed to score.

Liverpool would have never won that Champions League trophy

I should read before I post

A better example would be Germany drawing 4:4 with Sweden after leading 4:0 in qualifying.

Yes there was a point, to make it 1-7 instead of leaving it 0-7.

well it does mean this match was tied for brazil's biggest ever defeat rather than their biggest defeat outright.
