In the interest of restoring a bit of balance to the forum - I'm genuinely interested - really I am.

I haven't seen anything nice about her. I'm not being horrible - I'm not being contrary - I really haven't.

She's a pretty girl but her face is constantly contorted in a sneer and she has nothing nice to say about anyone.

She has started to join in a bit more I'll give her that but for a long time she sat sulking while anyone else was having fun in the pool or whatever - it was miserable behaviour - like she had no fun in her.

I realise everyone will blame Helen but I'm not buying that (sorry) - there are a lot of other people in that house besides her.

Now tell me I'm wrong. Tell me why she is such a lovely girl.

No takers

Ok I'll give it a go.

She's young so maybe this attitude she displays will fall by the wayside.

She's a teenager so hearing her bitch like a schoolyard mean girl doesn't mean the same when say a 33 year old man is doing it.

I think she has anger issues that she has to work out but she has time to do that. Helen is running out of time to do that. She'll likely just stay that way now.

When she wears little makeup and curls up on a couch with her stuffed puppy she seems quite innocent, so maybe there is still a bit of innocence there. I personally think not as she's grown up in a rough place and has won a beauty contest, which is a tough biz from what I understand. So I think she has had a lot more experience with how low adults can go than people like to think she has.

There is a case that could be made that her youth does make her susceptible to bad influences like Toya who was her bestie in there from early on till she was evicted. And Matthew too, he was a disappointment to me anyway. I expect a bit more maturity from him.

And lastly she is quite intelligent, what I think she lacks is emotional intelligence and when she gets that I'm sure she'll stop calling people the things she does. Stop lashing out when things don't go her way.

IN other words Ashleigh is not a hopeless case. She's just lost her way a bit. I hope she takes her mothers advice and lets go of her anger and has some FUN!!!!!

I don't see Ashleigh as "a lovely girl" or any of the other frivilous terms so many like to give her. Ashleigh is not even my most favorite housemate. To me Ashleigh has been the bravest housemate in there because she did what precious few of the other housemates had the guts to do--including Helen's minions--and that is to not tow Helen's line every second of every day in that house--and to take a chance and stick her neck out. Yes she failed in her attempt. At least she tried. End of.

Ashleigh was stupid---she bragged---she should have kept her plan to herself. Whatever. I don't care about any of that. Yes--she bitches behind others backs. I don't care about that either. So what--it's the BB house. The program would be rather boring if it wasn't for some backstabbing and bitching and Ashleigh is not the only one in that house that does it but she is the only one that gets slated for it. Whatever. I don't care about that either.

I like her.

Why is it a stupid question?

Plenty of people take time out to voice out their dislike of housemates why not why they like them too.

I like Jale and have never had a problem responding when people have asked why. I have responded many times - I know why I like her.

Interesting that there aren't many takers on this.

Very telling IMO - I don't honestly think that there is much to like.

Yes and some people on this forum really need to realize some people don't only vote on a like or dislike of certain housemates they vote on the bigger picture. Bigger picture being for some Helens head will get even bigger still if Ashleigh goes. And some people are fed up with bb being the Helen show since day one also about her final pass too.

Despite protestations of just wanting to know......this thread it's just another cheap shot to rag on Ashleigh.

I think she is bright, smart enough to suss out the Nasty Gang and verbalize her feelings. So what if she did it in the DR or the Pod.....THEY have all spoken about each other behind closed doors (so to speak)

She has stood up for herself and I like that. She is also incredibly pretty which, quite frankly, I think annoys many of her detractors. Yeah, think she's a cool girl

So, from the answers on here so far, the basic reason seems to be that she tried to get one over on Helen, as no-one seems to have listed any nice points about her personality ?

Re BIB - it really isn't you know. I'm being 100% honest when I say I don't see much to like. I'm curious why she is so popular.

I cant believe that if you don't like a h/m you spend day after day posting about them I would have thought that is the last thing you would want to waste your time doing.

The girl has morals. She would never get into a swimming pool with a member of the opposite sex and will gladly call out any debauched hussy that does.

Sorry and with respect I don't believe you. You spend an inordinate amount of time slagging her off, so pls do understand my disbelief.

Well said I agree 100%. Never let the facts in the way of an opportunity to throw bile at Ashleigh for the sake of it seems to be the fashion.

I could not see what anyone liked in Gina last year but realized we all perceive people differently.

OK - if you think that. You couldn't be more wrong though.

Jale is my favoured HM - she is taking a bashing. I honestly thought/hoped Ashliegh would be evicted over her I make no bones about that.

Is it so odd to ask why people like her? I just don't see why they do - that's all.

It's all a bit defensive - there is no need.

Again, I'm sure this has been answered a million times on here... a lot of people, myself included, like the fact she isn't a sheep to Helen when it would have been soooooo easy for her to be especially at her age. She doesn't like the way a number of housemates behave - again, a lot of viewers feel the same it seems, so relate to her because of it.
Admittedly, she could have gone about things differently, not called people 'dicks' etc (although I find myself agreeing with her assessments most of the time) and perhaps tried to smile more and not appear miserable. She isn't perfect - who is, but in my opinion is holding herself well amongst a group of people that I would find painful to live with.

Why start a thread asking people why they like someone, especially when it's the person you seem to dislike most. I don't really think people need to give a reason for liking someone. ~There isn't always a reason. There are people I like who other people I know can't stand and vice versa. IThey can't understand why I like them and I can't understand why they don't. We don't start quizzing each other as to why we like who we like. We just do.
