Well skipping through the majority of answers that offer no insight what so ever as to why Ashleigh is likeable, the one reoccuring sentiment seems to be that she hasn't joined in with Helen. I respect that trait of Ashleigh's... can we summarise it as she's a good judge of character?

If that is the reason, and we are ignoring whether or not she is fundamentally a nice person (or not) then I think the thread needs no further investigation.

Personally speaking I can think of one other housemate who also refuses to join in with Helen, but has the added bonus of being fundamentally a much nicer person than Ashleigh. I won't bother saying who it because it is obvious. It will be interesting to see if this housemate ends up gaining more support as the days and weeks progress.

LOL yes I see now that you gave an answer first, which I actually missed as my scroll bar has playing up for the last couple of days so your first post was the one where you said you didn't believe the OP's motives, so I apologise unreservedly for that. However as to the rest of your post, it doesn't surprise me one bit, and I'm well aware that I'm nowhere near your league for the BIB, but I promise to try harder Btw as we're close enough now for you to call me dear, can I call you sweetie ?
You most certainly can...henceforth, I am Sweetie Scarlett you may now arise from your knees.

Maybe so, and she is very judgemental, but just look at what she's been locked up in the house with.

She has things to learn in life (she's clearly not perfect) but blimey, she's far more mature and decent a person than certain others in there, those others are far older than her and seemed to have learned nothing.
You can't go into the Big Brother house with a superiority complex and sit and slate all your fellow housemates off without being called out for it by either the fellow housemates or the public. Why do you think she got booed last week?

Her housemates at that point weren't aware of what she was doing, but the public were.

As I said, she can turn this around for herself if she survives eviction. It's up to her.

The reason most have not replied to your thread, and the reason I suspect most have not even read it, is that it smacks of disingenuousness.

You have tirelessly attacked, villified and traduced Ashleigh on dozens of threads, with posts laden with vitriol and hypocrisy.

But now you genuinely want to know why people like Ashleigh - you really really do.

I suggest you go back to those aforementioned threads and re-read what others have said about Ashleigh, posts you probably ignored or dismissed, or go to the appreciation thread, or go to twitter where her popularity is surging.

The answers are out there Penny, you don't have to start a disingenuous thread to find them, the real reason for which is probably just to find a new and slightly more dishonest means to attack her.
I suggest you not be so personal, Penny is not a HM.

Have a Nice Day.

According to you.. I think she is a clued in well adjusted girl who sees repulsive individuals for what they are and for that I applaud her. Way to go Ashleigh

I don't see Ashleigh as "a lovely girl" or any of the other frivilous terms so many like to give her. Ashleigh is not even my most favorite housemate. To me Ashleigh has been the bravest housemate in there because she did what precious few of the other housemates had the guts to do--including Helen's minions--and that is to not tow Helen's line every second of every day in that house--and to take a chance and stick her neck out. Yes she failed in her attempt. At least she tried. End of.

Ashleigh was stupid---she bragged---she should have kept her plan to herself. Whatever. I don't care about any of that. Yes--she bitches behind others backs. I don't care about that either. So what--it's the BB house. The program would be rather boring if it wasn't for some backstabbing and bitching and Ashleigh is not the only one in that house that does it but she is the only one that gets slated for it. Whatever. I don't care about that either.

I like her.

I go along with this.........at 18 I would not have been able to cope with the likes of helen, good on her

Do you suggest that she keeps it going then? How long do you think it will last before the public evicts her?

He's been just lovely the entire time. He's a bit of hard work, often says the wrong thing LOL but he's always been there for anyone whose been used in a vicious manner by others, which is more than I can say for ALL the rest. If it was a vote to save I might consider voting for Christopher, although I really don't want to put my money into Channel 5's coffers because they manipulate the show and the audience at will.
LOL that's why I like him mainly because of his awkwardness, but he's also been very fair with the others, he doesn't make a fuss at always being nominated and he's usually one of the first to go and comfort anyone that's upset.

Well said, I agree.

Ashleigh had a go fighting back while everyone else surrendered. The lass showed a spark, even if she overplayed it.

Because it's extremely rude and vicious and as an adult I would hope that one would have a better command of the language and not seek to offend or show their own vicious nature so easily.

You can use it all you like, I will just not read your posts anymore. It's the adult thing to do. Have a Nice Day.
Its not vicious and I'm not intending to offend anyone its a well known common phrase for someone who sucking up to another person and as such i have used as others have in this forum.

I do not have a vicious nature perhaps you are easy offended.

Even if that's not true though? She spent 3 weeks trying to join Helen, she did join Toya. And the day before yesterday she was hanging out with Helen and happy to be there.

Talking to Helen or talking to a group that includes Helen is something EVERY ONE of them has done, including Ashleigh. The only one to actually stand up to Helen for no personal reason is Christopher, who both Chris put up and Toya for no good reason. And you know a funny thing I thought better of Ashleigh for seemingly getting on with it, letting go of her silly grudge against Helen for not wanting to include Ashleigh because of her age. If Helen wants to be a bitch let her, Ashleigh didn't need to get so vicious about others simply because Helen was not nice to her, Helen isn't nice to anyone, she's even had go's at Ash.

I've been waiting for 2 weeks for her to snap out of it. And she finally did.

Shame there aren't any WELL DONE Christopher threads.

I hope he wins, he's been great.

Haven't a clue, nor do you, but in the meantime, I personally take great delight that Ashleigh sussed the nasty gang out and shared her honest opinions in the DR.

Age does not give one carte blanche to be profoundly wordly wise. Some of the savviest people I have met are young. If you're a thick young person, it doesn't follow that you will be a "wise" old person.

I think Ashleigh's popularity hinges on her hatred of Helen. We have all seen what happened to Forum sentiment of Jale when she was seen to be getting too close to Helen. She is now a dead man walking.

Why doesn't she just leave if her time is so impossible with all these lowlifes? Uh?

Yes and one of the reasons why I started to support her, the only one to have a go and try to stop Helen and her gang smothering the house.

Clearly it's just an excuse to be hateful and vicious. Chris going is a much better idea, watching paint dry is more interesting than watching Chris sit and smoke.

The misogyny is at a really high level and so much of it is coming from females.
Kim seems to be the next target. Guess people are desperate for a house that has Helen and her groupies in it and NO ONE ELSE. Sausage fest coming soon to a BB near you.

My point being that she's not miserable at all and probably desperate to join in.
