As it happens I have no problem with you at all Janis, you are one of a very few that did give your reasons, another poster was getting very irate and was very rude, so I left the thread and went into another and that same person was attacking another forum member and being very condescending so left that one too. You have always been a fair poster with considered and reasonable posts but it was madness on here last night and not at all pleasant.

As for the ignore and the T & Cs argument, I have never put anybody on ignore as I can remember and definitely not reported anybody even though I have come close. Especially last night. Like somebody asked on here last night, was there a full moon out!

Whats not to like? She is sweet, kind and pretty and can stand up to a bully. She has not posed naked, done any porn or slept with anybody for money. She is loyal to her boyfriend and hasn't flirted with any of the boys. Her only crime is talking about people behind their backs which most of the population does

I can't believe that, there are always reasons that we like one person and don't like another, facets of their personality that appeal to us and those that don't. I think the question was asked as it seems that most of the other HM's are liked or not liked in relation to their relationships with Helen, rather than on their actual personalities per se. Jale for instance was liked by a lot until she and Helen made their peace, yet she hasn't really changed her personality. Ash was universally hated because he liked Helen, yet he's now coming across as being quite a reasonable bloke. I think the question was asked because, in the main, when people say something about Ashleigh, Helen is always brought into it by those that like Ashleigh in about 90% of cases, and the OP was interested to find out if that was why some liked her rather than liking her for herself. It's quite a valid question if you stand back and look at it dispassionately, (and yes I do know you answered it, this is just a reply to your post quoted above).

I haven't seen her whining at all and the 'bitching' isn't constant, she passes comment on the behaviour that she sees around her, the same comments that most of the public are making and the same comments I would be making if I were in her shoes.

Yes it was getting a bit unpleasant last night. I do know though of one poster who put me on ignore because I challenged her/him on something posted earlier. It doesn't really bother me but it just seems a bit childish and petty when someone can be very forceful in their opinion but then when I challenge them on it cries T & Cs and puts me on ignore. I just don't get it. Isn't that what the forum is for. I also have never put anyone on ignore and have also never reported anyone. It just seems to me that when people do that they're basically admitting they have no answer to my question!

I like her. Shes a teenage girl with all the insecurities of being one. She gets grumpy and bitchy like a lot of girls her age. Shes funny sometimes shes caring sometimes. I think shes learning a lot of lessons in the house and will probably benefit from what she learns. Shes not evil and shes not nearly as nasty as people say she is. But those who dislike her are never going to like her no matter what she does.

Interesting, I don't see her as arrogant, miserable or boring. I see Streven, Ash, Marlon and Helen as arrogant and I see Ashleigh getting irritated by their arrogance.

So I think she has had a lot more experience with how low adults can go than people like to think she has.

There is a case that could be made that her youth does make her susceptible to bad influences like Toya who was her bestie in there from early on till she was evicted. And Matthew too, he was a disappointment to me anyway. I expect a bit more maturity from him.

And lastly she is quite intelligent, what I think she lacks is emotional intelligence and when she gets that I'm sure she'll stop calling people the things she does. Stop lashing out when things don't go her way.

IN other words Ashleigh is not a hopeless case. She's just lost her way a bit. I hope she takes her mothers advice and lets go of her anger and has some FUN!!!!!”

A well thought out post Sasparella. I totally agree with you and I was genuinely looking for a good debate on what they thought of her as a person rather than about the rivalry of her and Helen for a change and I do think that Penny started it for this reason.

By the way I do agree with you about Ash too, I liked his compassion towards Marlon yesterday and I think that we are seeing more of the real Ash now. He is very loyal to Helen and because we don't see 24/7 live feed we are not seeing what goes on in the house. Who are we to judge who they should be friends with really?

Yes, I know the feeling. There are many that do jump on the ignore button and the T & Cs but anybody will see from my history I am definitely not one of them. But when it gets awkward on here I find it's better to leave the thread for awhile and come back later when things have cooled down. There are some very interesting posts on here since and nice to see.

I agree about not putting up with Helens behaviour but I would have admired Ashleigh so much more if she had not come down to Helens level. She could have made it known that she didn't like her by ignoring her and just having more time for the other housemates rather than bitching behind her back and calling her names. It didn't help Ashleigh getting in with Pauline and Toya in my eyes because they bitched about Jale and Kim and Christopher and Chris. I think that Ashleigh and Danielle should have kept their relationship with Jale and Kim too as they all got along fine instead of bitching behind their backs. I honestly think that they could have had a bigger group than the cool group and would have outnumbered them had they stuck together.

I really believe Ashleigh's biggest problem was ostracising herself with Danielle against everybody. But now she has listened to her mum and if she does stay on Friday then she could possibly turn things around if she now continues to mix with the other housemates and sops the bitching and backstabbing.

Yes, she does come over as arrogant, especially in the dr. And she has been miserable and boring to a lot of us but whether she will change now her mum has spoken to her we will see after Friday if she stays.

She was never 'friends' with either Pauline or Helen. She tried to get on with both at the start; discovered what they were like and then kept her distance - as any sane, rational person would. She had the measure of Helen long before Toya, I'll remind you (yet again) when in the bedroom Toya was saying that the others were leading Helen into bad behaviour and Ashleigh responded 'Really? You think that's what's happening?'. I keep recalling that conversation but posters continue to ignore that important fact.

Yes I have. Vast swaths of which is off topic, petty squabbling between forum members... Or maybe I'm seeing things?

There were some insightful answers, of which the reoccurring theme was Ashleigh dislikes Helen and/or does not join in with her circle. I respect this point of view.
