Only if you can make sense of what he's saying
I too struggle to understand half the things he says due to his thick accent. But even then he's still better than Lee Dixon. All Fabio needs to do is sit there and look cool and even then he outshines Chiles and co

I like Guy Mowbray but there's no way I'm letting Lawro ruin the experience.
So I'll probably go with the R5 commentators especially as it is the final ever commentary from the peerless Ingham/ Green team.

My TV is actually about 15-20 seconds behind my radio. It can be quite handy as I can listen in the kitchen, hear a goal and have plenty of time to saunter into the living room to watch it happen
I like that

If Lawro is co-commentating then it will be ITV for me.

Only heard tonight that Lawro got in trouble for saying a player should be wearing a skirt - meaning he was acting like a girl.
The BBC apologised for it.

I'm a woman, so Cannavaro can be speaking Italian for all I care

Jokes aside though, I don't find his English is that bad

Just came across this; I didn't know the disparity was so wide,

More than 18 million viewers watched live coverage of the 2010 World Cup final between Spain and Holland, with 15.1 million opting for BBC1 and 3.3 million for ITV.

http://www.theguardian.com/media/201...2014-bbc-v-itv

The fairly brief article has some quite interesting comments and statistics about the coverage of the world cup on ITV and the BBC.

We've never seen the Final on ITV, and I doubt we'll be starting now.

BBC for the build up (or at least when Cannavaro is talking), for the game it depends if Lawro is co-commentating

Hopefully he is

My favourite pundit! Do people really prefer Ferdinand and Shearer to Cannavro and Hoddle?

Can't stand him, sorry. Says something in terrible English and then sits there grinning and looking around for 5 minutes

I do like playing 'how many times can Vieira say really, quite, really quite or quite really' though

Cannavaro is so cool though His English is not that bad and everything he says makes a lot of sense. He was the only one who said it was a mistake for Van Gaal to sub his keeper and that Mascherano was Argentina's main man before the Holland v Argentina game.

He is a legend.

Ferdinand has been very good and belongs nowhere near Shearer when talking about pundits.

BBC all the way, cant abide ITVs coverage.

No breaks, no Chiles, no Townsend.

Dont the BBC usually wipe the floor viewing figures wise with ITV when they broadcast simultaneously?
Admirably put.

But it wasn't. The change worked.

Will start off on BBC 1 and if Argentina score will go to ITV. Do the same when I see a bad weather forecast.
Seriously though, both main channels. Is it necessary ? I know its only every 4 years, but for those who can't be bothered channel hopping its a bleeding liberty.

Only until the next game though. He should have either done the same again or made Krul his no1 keeper. All Van Gaal achieved was to knock the confidence of his no1 keeper and players and to boost the confidence of the Argentine penalty takers.

The fact is that he subbed the keeper and they advanced.
The rest is speculation.

BBC, don't need to think about it. I knew before the World Cup started.

It will be BBC for me for many reasons highlighted above. . One, not mentioned as far I can see is that the TV coverage is usally a couple of seconds ahead of the ITV version.

People complaining about the adverts. It's not as if they appear mid way through the game. I'm not sitting in one place for 90+ minutes. The adverts make a good place to get up and move around.

No Andy Townsend is all the reason anyone needs to stick with the BBC.
