Also that jade didn't make a positive impact on society , well she brought huge awareness to cervical cancer and a lot more young women knew to get themselves checked for it. I may not have actually liked jade all that much but it's easy to see the positive impact she had (as well as the negative). I don't see how posting some idiotic unfunny YouTube videos contributes all that much more tbh :P

I couldn't disagree more. In the latter stages of her life she raised an enormous amount of awarness of cervical & ovarian Cancer. Thus helping many women who may have passed on themselves through ignorance and lack of information. (Her friends also fund raised for the charity by running marathons etc.)

For that alone she was successful in my eyes.

!As a result of the publicity surrounding Goody's illness, on 13 March 2009 government health ministers agreed to review the NHS's policy of not offering screening for cervical cancer until the age of 25 in England (it is 20 in the rest of the UK). Goody issued a press release the same day, saying that she was "immensely proud" that she had helped prompt the review

One of the biggest d*ckheads ever to grace the show.

So there was a snippet of her pedalling furiously on an exercise bike. Only she didn't lose any weight, so that was that.”

Wasn't she the pure English rose that stormed through the proceedings belching extremely loudly?

That's how we could determine successful , housemates who leave the house having enjoyed the experience for the most part and return to their everyday jobs (or become z listers , whatever makes them happy) without any mental scars (I think people underestimate how taxing it is mentally)”

For me, real success is measured by the level of positive impact a person has on the lives of others.

Radio being a much under-appreciated medium here. Kate and Adele have jobs, a career, have been nominated for awards on National Radio stations. The shows are in their name, they are the driving force, they're not just doing segments like Alison. It must trump the likes of Josie who seems to have lost weight, and..

Indeed and Jade did. Regrettably she had to get sick and sadly pass away to do so, but nonetheless credit where it is due.

Maybe not financially very successful, but in my mind, raising awareness of Tourette Syndrome was what made Pete Burnett one of the most important housemates.

There's massive production behind these channels now. All the top channels are based in LA and Youtube have actually moved Sam over there.

He has over 2 million Youtube followers and he's toured the UK. He must be doing something right.

He will be earning an absolute fortune.

No, success is about money. You can pretend otherwise but that's how you measure success in the real world.

Not my cup of tea but good on him for doing well. I just wouldn't say it's contributing to society more than jade did
Does the fact that it's all studio run now not kind of take away from the point of YouTube and user created content?

Yes. Unfortunately for Jayne, the only people who found her funny, were Michael and er, Jayne. To quote Aisleyne, who'd had enough of her after half a day in the HND, "I don't believe you can be like that 24/ 7, you'd have a seizure"

No, I think it's just a natural progression as more and more people continue to watch his channel. The more people who watch the shows, the more they make from ads, and therefore the more they can spend on production.

Sam would have started at the very bottom the same as most other youtube channels. The exception would obviously be top artists and tv chefs etc who already have a large following. The average man has to start at the bottom though. Sam is only able to spend more on production because he has so many viewers. It's a sign of success.

Absolute garbage. I can measure success however I damn well please. It isn't a pretence. Are they all as shallow as you out there in the 'real world'?
