Does anyone know exactly which songs were meant to be on Britney's scrapped Original Doll album from 2005 and how many of them are available to listen to online (on Youtube or wherever)? I've read so many conflicting accounts of tracks that were supposed to be on it but were scrapped or later added to Blackout or re-written and given different titles, some fully recorded but never released, some rough demos, etc, etc, I don't know what's what?! Lol.

I'm pretty sure Mona Lisa, Chaotic, Do Somethin', Someday I Will Understand, Money, Love & Happiness and Ouch were meant to be on it, weren't they? I also read that Break The Ice was meant to be on it but ended up on Blackout. Was it a different version that would have been on Original Doll, I wonder, or the same version that ended up on Blackout? Which other songs where meant to be on it, and are they available to listen to anywhere, anyone know? Even just rough demo versions. I'd love to be able to hear all the songs together, to hear how the album would have sounded, as much as possible!

Such a shame the album never got released. Goodness knows why they don't release it now, along with other previously unreleased Britney songs. A special "rarities" album, it would be great!

Oh btw, what album was the original version of And Then We Kiss supposed to be on? I know the remixed version ended up on her remix album but I wonder why the brilliant original version wasn't released? Could it have been for Original Doll too, or maybe In The Zone but left off?

And then we kiss was for in the zone. Recorded during the same sessions as breathe on me.

The whole project was deleted more or less.

Of the songs that were supposed to be on it Mona Lisa and Someday (I Will understand) still exist.

Break the Ice was always for Blackout anything on or around that album was meant for it or ended up on it.

Again Chaotic was on the Chaotic EP and never meant for the album a lot of the online tracklistings are fabricated guesswork as there are no original documents left of what exactly the album tracklisting was to be.

I don't know all of the leaked songs, but I do know that:

Do Somethin'
Break The Ice (now on Blackout)
Mona Lisa
Money Love Happiness
Peep Show
Ouch
Welcome To Me
Someday (I Will Understand)

were meant for Original Doll and those songs are definitely around. Do Somethin' and Mona Lisa were released. Break The Ice was re-recorded for Blackout. I've got a demo version of it called Been A While, but I'm not sure if that was a OD or Blackout demo. I think the rest of the songs were destroyed There are a lot of fanmade tracklists but I managed to find what might have been an official one somewhere. If I find it again I'll post it.

Are you sure DS was for OD as it featured and was a single from MP:GH before the actual conception of the project?

I read somewhere (might have been on Exhale) that it was and someone said it was because there's a reference to Mona Lisa in the video and Mona Lisa was supposed to be the first single from OD. I'm not sure how true that bit of info was, but that's what I read.

You're completely right CNBC, there is a part in the Do Somethin's MV that mentions Mona Lisa, The official video found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0V38hAK0C_g
Check the 0.07 mark.

That's what I was thinking of. It could well be an OD reference. Another rumour I read about it is that she directed the video herself using the alter-ego or psuedonym Mona Lisa. I'm not sure if that's true though.

Mona Lisa was an alter ego she was using that fed into the song. IT was also a nod to the fact DS was what she had herself directed and her taking more control .

I read somewhere that her label didn't want her to release Do Somethin' as a single and they didn't want her to do a video for it. She decided to do a video anyway.

I can see that reason definitely. But Do Something was not for original doll. Mona Lisa was an alter ego created by her to exemplify her doing what she wanted.

This can be seen inn the song Mona Lisa which I adore .

Thanks everyone. I can't believe they scrapped and even destroyed so many songs, are they crazy?!!! It's Britney!! Fans would be happy to have a recording of her sneezing so to have all these unheard songs that she recorded would have been amazing! Such a shame.

I thought Do Somethin' was for Original Doll too but I guess not. I guess because it was released as a single but didn't appear on any studio album so thought they must have planned to put it on Original Doll. Then again I know they do add extra tracks that just appear on Greatest Hits compilations, like with Girls Aloud's Something Kinda Oooh.

I really wish there'd be a special double or even triple CD release of all rare/previously unreleased/demo's of Britney.

Do Something was recorded and released before the original Doll sessions o I have no idea why fans think it was for OD apart from the Mona Lisa reference which is just an alter-ego she created .

That's right. I think that was a sign that she wanted more control over her music. Mona Lisa is a good song but kinda sad in a way as I think it predicts the events of 2007

Which album was Do Somethin' recorded for then? In The Zone? GH:MP?

GH:MP DS was for . Her label didn't want a video recorded but she persuaded them the beginning of Mona Lisa.

That's right. She directed the video under the name Mona Lisa, just to show that she wanted to have more control over her work. I do think her label held her back a lot, not just with the DS video but in general. The whole Original Doll story is a sign of that.

Yeah the original FF concept was supposed to be urban/R&B (listen to the unreleased song Pleasure You, which was meant for the album) and then they changed it to dance-pop as that was what was popular at the time. Shame as I'd say the original concept would have been really good.

Same here though as with Blackout she kick started and brought certain trends to the mainstream .

I'd love for Original Doll to be released at some point.

I was listening to Femme Fatale in my car this morning.

I don't think Original Doll will be released any time soon. I think what will happen is that if Britney dies (not something I want to think about ) they will release a few posthumous albums of unreleased songs and the Original Doll stuff will be on it. They'll likely try and milk it like what happened after MJ died.
