Coronation Street was out of slot last night so there is a reason for 'low' ratings. But what are the reasons for Emmerdale and Eastenders?

I really think Eastenders can't be saved. The rot set in years ago and it seems viewer simply have not returned to watching it. I know its a struggle for me these days

Good to see the ED 2nd ep picking up viewers on the back of the 1st ep, following DonnaGonna's admission finally to Marlon that she is in fact dying.

When did you sneak that 'mildstone' in, and if it wasn't on the ED or Corrie threads you can just forget about the usual champers and canapes from Mr B. ![]()

Germany v Brazil the other night got 14m !!
Kinda justifies slinging the soaps out of their spots I'd say.

Big live sporting events like the World Cup are going to destroy soaps and we know that, but we can just catch up on another day or record a soap.
It's only a soap

The shares aren't too terrible. If 5.5 million is a 30% share it means only around 20 million people were watching TV last night at that time.

Not many people watch TV live these days, especially in the summer. Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale are always consistent with their share, and as long as it remains that way, I don't see a problem. |

Good grief no! I only quoted that post of yours and 'ahemmed' to draw attention to your post count, so I could demand to know why you didn't have your milestone on the Corrie or ED thread. These are the things that matter as you know.
