So as someone on The One Plan SIM only plan on a 12 month term which runs out in Jan, will I keep unlimited tethering until the end of my contract, and then continue to keep unlimited tethering until I cancel it?

Are there any limits on using my tariff in a feel at home country

Is my current AYCE data, and unlimited tethering capped at any amount?

This is all getting very confusing, so help would be appreciated

To be 100% clear the 3 Price guide states: " For the purposes of All-You-Can-Eat data, your plan is comprised of a total of 25,000 data units which can be converted into megabytes of data use, either within the UK or when abroad in a Feel At Home destination."

and....

"If you have all-you-can-eat data units as part of your package or with an Add-on, there are no hidden “fair use policies”. The number of data units set out in this guide of 25,000 are the number of data units that you can convert into 25 GB for use in the UK or a Feel At Home destination each month."

The above seems pretty clear that the data unit limits stated apply both in the UK and in Feel at Home countries. The units I presume only apply to customers buying the updated SIM Only Plans which are no longer called 'The One Plan'.

3's Price Guide is very specific about what is available, as has already ben stated, and as things stand I would buy a contract only on the basis of what is written on the official documentation as it could be a very bad mistake relying on second hand information.

As long as you signed up to the one plan before July 15th (which is when they stopped selling it) then you're subject to the old T&C which give you unlimited data and tethering. This will continue even once you're out of contract. Its only if you move onto the new price plans that will cause you to lose unlimited data. So obviously just stay on the plan you're on.

So you get an allowance of 1000GB, but you can only use 25GB of that!?

My my, 3 really are turning the ntl of the modern day when it comes to their communications (or lack thereof).

It's like me giving my son a monthly allowance of £1000, but then telling him he can only use £25!

I think what they're saying is that you're not limited to 25GB in the UK, it's that you can use 25GB in the UK (or more) - I think that's what they're implying.

It's either an "allowance" of 1000GB while you're in the UK and 25GB in a Feel at Home country...or it's not.

I think that AYCE data on the phone (not including feel at home) is still unlimited, but the person who writes the Three price guides has not read back his changes before publishing it.

I have noticed a few other conflicts in the guide, on within roaming costs and one within add-ons LOL

Maybe someone who worked for Microsoft before? Therefore release the guide as is and let the people test it and find/report the bugs.

Technically though, if they then correct the price guide, the people who've already signed up agreed to the terms under the contract, which would be a limit of 25GB.

Or is this not the case as the price guide is so ambiguous?

Reading above it sounds like the AYCE isn't unlimited as it has a 1000GB limit... therefore surely they can't advertise it as Unlimited? I'd imagine it wouldn't be impossible to use 1TB in a month, especially if you're using 4G....

What they're trying to say is that if you use 25GB of your allowance, it comes out of the 1000GB, it's not 1000 for UK AND 25GB for Feel At Home. It's part of the same allowance.

If you use the 25GB abroad, it only gives you 975GB of data for use in the UK that month.

Most important of all, if you're already on a plan from before the 15th, don't upgrade your plan, just keep it rolling and you won't be affected.

A commercial company the size of 3 with communication as their business should have no excuse when it comes to getting information across to customers. What is really needed.is clarity and 3 could easily provide it by altering the price guide to state specifically that all you can eat means 1000GB soft cap in the UK and a 25GB allowance when on Feels like home but the max equals 1000GB in total. Do Three market data as unlimited ?

The industry is a minefield with regard to using worlds like unlimited and no FUP. Telefonica's giffgaff must be amongst the worst because it goes out of its way to claim its data is unlimited without FUP but bans users from future unlimited data bundle purchases after 30 days if they use too much. The technicality is its bundles only last 30 days so they don't breach ASA rules if they prevent future purchases. Apparently it recently banned 750 customer from purchasing a new unlimited bundle.

Using your phone as a personal hotspot, is now allowed on all phone price plans and you can use up to 2GB per month as a personal hotspot, or however much data you have, if it’s less than 2GB.

Our SIM Only price plans have just been revised and are now similar to the phone price plans. We no longer have a price plan which includes unlimited personal hotspot.

If you joined or upgraded with us on or before 17th March, you’ll most likely be on one of our older price plans. You can find information about these by visiting: http://www.three.co.uk/priceguide and choosing the right price guide for when you joined us.

I have been on The One Plan with Three for a couple of years and I was told by a member of staff at the Three Store that when my current One Plan contract finishes early next year I can continue to get unlimited AYCE internet tethering on my phone if I continue my contract even though the new plans are on 4GB tethering. Is this true or is it just sales talk?

Is that a phone contract or sim only ? If it's a phone yes you just carry on paying the same amount but can't upgrade your phone otherwise it's new T&C's. Most people wouldn't want to pay that amount and not have a new phone as part of the cost.
