Wouldn't be surprised if she'd suffered from abuse at some point in her past. She's so disengaged and passive, it's actually sad to watch.

He has very much used emotional manipulation to control Kimberly,she used the term 'psycho' this evening(last night) quite a reasonable suggestion considering Steven's behaviour.

I also think the relationship has been gradual.Although Steven was on the case on day1,it has taken time.Maybe Kim wasnt sure about leaving her boyfriend..

I think it's possible Kim's behaviour has to do with her childhood: that she either has/had very a controlling Father or Mother and maybe worse. Therefore, I am not sure that she can help herself and respond in the way she does.

Anyone who has experienced a Sociopath close at hand, will recognise Steven's actions, and quite frankly, it's scary.
I believe that Kimberley has experienced abuse in one form or another, as she is so emotionally shut down. She also needs to be quite hard emotionally, due to her previous careers. It's not easy to do. But I would put more money on the being abused side, as she was almost pleading and begging with Helen to be listened to, when she was trying to explain that she would explain to her why she was shut down, after they are out. It is obviously something serious, or she would have spoken out without worry. It's obviously a bigger deal to her, than sex... although I felt that Steven had manipulated her into that act too.
I have had the misfortune to cross paths closely with 3 Sociopaths. They are very very capable of manipulating people into anything at all. Steven has all the traits.

I think you could be right. After watching all the uncomfortable controlling behaviour by Steven, then the even more uncomfortable bedtime scenes I have started to wonder if she has planned all this from day one, get with a guy bring the ex into the story for maximum effect, then bring the ex into the house. Because of Kim's reticence I thought she was quite cool and detached but it's been pitiful how she has crumbled under his manipulation. I feel sorry for her. She gives him the tools to put her down, 'I'm so upset with you'. I could scream for her. Run from this personality cancer, Kim.

For someones who's supposed to be intelligent, she is very easy to manipulate. Steven talked himself into that relationship. I remember their early conversations, where it was obvious she wasn't interested, but he kept going on and on. and eventually she just went along with it. She seems very passive and easy to control, which is a shame.
In the beginning it might have been some kind of something to raise her profile, to ensure rag deals when she got out, but that's over since fu$king on TV for nothing.
I actually think there's something wrong with her, and Steven has fixed in on it and knows exactly how to manipulate everything she does.

I'm sorry to hear of your past. Sadly, I don't think a mental health unit is where Steven would get help. He is not sick in that way. It seems more that his personality is flawed, for whatever reason, and is being highlighted in that house where everything is exaggerated.
I don't like the guy, or the way he tries to manipulate people. It's not pleasant to watch, but he will carry on like that in life, because he is driven.
Emma got it right on BBBOTS tonight. He is a driven man, and while that makes him a great housemate for all the wrong reasons, it also makes him eminently watchable.
