No team has ever conceded as many goals in one World Cup as Brazil.

You have to feel sympathy for them; they've been on the kind of rollercoaster which was previously the sole domain of England fans and what's more, they've endured it in their very own tournament.

Don't think you need to play to get a medal. Everyone in the squad gets a medal, it's not like a league where you need to have a certain number of apps.

I don't. Think of the jaguars, Mrs T. And none of the people in the slums would've been in the stadium tonight.

This could be the first time, no one wants to swap shirts with a Brazilian player, its hardly going to be worth anything in the future

It wasn't so much like a rollercoaster as one of those fairground rides that drop you like a stone from a great height.

Do the Brazilians have to watch the Dutch being presented with their bronze medals?!

I feel for them too and of course for England but let's not forget about the countries that don't even get to qualify *coughs*

Game over

Brazil 0
Netherlands 3, and the bronze medal

Maybe next time Brazil will work as a team, instead of going for individual glory, which isn't the way footie works!

170 goals now. Just one behind France '98.

I am delighted.

If it means Brazil decide to go back to their pre 1986 approach and ditch the dogged, defensive, European style which itself has now become out of date, all the better for us the watching public.

They've been absolutely embarrassed, humiliated and destroyed. And at their own World Cup too. I wonder if all those billions was really worth it. I've enjoyed the tournament a lot but then I haven't had to pay for it.

Given its greatest WC ever by an absolute mile it should have passed it ages ago, not left it to the final game.

3rd place for the Dutch sounds about right, they've had a good tournament with the spanking dished out to Spain being the highlight.

4th place for Brazil is being generous. Still miffed that Columbia didn't have more belief in themselves otherwise they would have knocked Brazil out. Even then, the ref was a homer and allowed the hosts to kick Columbia off the pitch.

Chile were very unlucky not to beat Brazil, and the likes of Cameroon, Mexico and Bosnia all caused problems for Neymar + 10. Yep, 4th place is far too generous.

Indeed.

Although Brazil's World Cup ends tomorrow it could be worth keeping an eye on what happens there for a few weeks afterwards.

Don't fancy Brazil's chances at next years' Tournament in Chile if they keep this squad

The myth has been busted

Glad the golden boot will not be affected by the third place match.

Would have enjoyed a couple more goals by Holland.

Not necessary.

Since 1978, everyone in the squad gets a medal.

And in 2007 FIFA retroactively gave medals to all squad members in World Cups before 1978.
