I didn't watch the match but how many times did Robben dive?
Obsessed.

3rd place for the Dutch sounds about right, they've had a good tournament with the spanking dished out to Spain being the highlight.

4th place for Brazil is being generous. Still miffed that Columbia didn't have more belief in themselves otherwise they would have knocked Brazil out. Even then, the ref was a homer and allowed the hosts to kick Columbia off the pitch.

Chile were very unlucky not to beat Brazil, and the likes of Cameroon, Mexico and Bosnia all caused problems for Neymar + 10. Yep, 4th place is far too generous.
Chile were a crossbar and a shootout away the round before as well.

I actually cannot believe what I have seen tonight... I don't think there was a single Brazilian on the pitch tonight. The Dutch weren't even trying.

PSG have a great defence this season - David Luiz and Silva

And Brazil didn't play at all well in that match either, so it wouldn't have been a fluke had that late shot gone in.

Brazil were poor throughout this tournament, but at least with Neymar they looked like they had some structure going forward and at least the potential for scoring a goal. Brazil without Neymar looks like headless chickens running in different directions and there is not even the faint possibility of anyone scoring a goal (unless by pure chance).

They've been found out at both ends since Neymar's departure. A dodgy defence and they pose no sort of a goal threat without him in the team.

Agreed, apart from Neymar who can be wholly excused as far as I am concerned.
It would appear in hindsight how much he held the team together. He must have done a hell of a lot when playing.

Most people I know are saying this, in fact it seems to me that most people want Germany to win after reading forums online etc.
I think that I want Argentina to win.

Maybe without Neymar there they all thought it was their big opportunity to be the hero. And as a consequence the team turned into an undisciplined unstructured mess.

Brazil let in 10 goals in these last two games.
That is an incredible statistic.

Ironically one of his fouls / dives looked like a clear penalty, but the refs don't trust him.

They've set a load of unwelcome records this week : they hadn't lost a competitive match at home in 40 years and now they've lost two in a row and tonight's result is their second worst WC result in their history after the semi defeat (along with the 3-0 loss in the 98 final)

Neymar + 10?

Hulk was easily the best Brazilian against Chile. Neymar didn't do much at all in that game

The whole squad get a medal.
It was just a nice gesture to give Vorm a run out at a world cup and also means that every Dutch player has made an appearance.
Pointless decision hy Van Gaal.

World Cup finals appearances should be earned. They shouldn't be handed around like confetti.

I remember it well, it is the only time I have seen Hulk assert himself and seek to dominate play. It seems the less Neymar plays, the more his reputation grows.

I might flip channels, so I can get the best of, hopefully, Robbie Savage and Ian Wright; you can't have too much down to earth stupidity.

You are a glutton for punishment.

I shall watch Savage on the BBC for the final, and relieved that tonight was the last ITV benality on the beach I have to endure.

Edit: Doubt Robbie will be on tonight though ...... guess the A team is Hansen, Shearer and Ferdinand.

Even some Brazilian fans refer to the team as Neymar + 10. Hell, he was even dressed to play last night while injured, why? Its almost like a Cult of Neymar or something.

As said previously though, it's a nothing game. No more than a friendly - although the winners do get a medal.

I'm surprised ITV didn't show them collecting their medals. The whole point of the 'pointless' game was to gain the medals.
