Tescos don't sell pirated disks. The penalties would not make it worth their while. Pirated disks are bought at the pasar malam (night market), and other street stalls.

And anywhere else in China

When I was in Beijing in 2005, pirate computer software was being sold openly in computer shops. They didn't seem to be trying to disguise it in any way. I don't recall specifically seeing pirate videos/DVDs, but I guess they were equally as readily available if one looked in the right places.

Can anyone recommend a cheap Blue Ray player; at the moment I am more interested in the quality of its upscaling than anything else as whilst I have a lot an awful lot of DVDs I do not, at present, have any Blue rays.

Anything from Sony or Panasonic should fit the bill.
