Hey I've had exactly the same on my iPhone to. Download an app called 'My tube' and you can listen to any YouTube video through that.
Can even sign into your YouTube account and load your playlists, also it plays in the background

https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/mytu...726910230?mt=8

That link should take you straight to the app.

It's something to do with advertising.
Some videos will only play on desktops but don't work on mobile devices.

The same videos work on the mytube app though, even though that's still on the iphone.

A very high percentage of videos won't play via my Humax TV box. I never thought of it as being due to the adverts, but that makes sense. I always refuse to play any video preceded by an ad that can't be cancelled within about three seconds.

Sorry, but with all the technology available now, the fact that some adverts can't be played on a mobile is bloody ridiculous.

At least if you want to download the video as an mp3, you don't get the advert that precedes it.
