There's also a thread somewhere in there showing that just as many NEW features (or features previously added via expansion packs) are present in the game.

^The thing is for me that the new features do not outweigh those that have been lost (or to be in an EP at a later date).
Sure some of it looks good, but I'm still thinking this is SimCity 5 again. |

For me, Sims 4 is a completely new game, just like Sims 3 was to Sims 2, and Sims 2 was to The Sims. It's a brand new take on the game so I'm not going to obsess about what isn't there, and while there's things about Sims 4 I'm unsure about, nearly everything I've read makes it sound tailored to the way I like to play Sims, so I'm really looking forward to playing the game. |

Price seems to be around £38. Not sure I can justify it given the lack of content, I'll wait and see what reviews are like

I got the game last night, I'm loving it so far! The graphics are lovely and the loading is so much quicker than the sims 3 and the saving is very quick too! The game also doesn't slow down my pc like the sims 3 did.Quote:

Will any of these Inspiron's play The Sims 4. The Sims 4 forum says the graphics card meets the requirements and i'm tempted to go for the middle:

![]() That seems very cheap, i'm just wondering have you ordered from there before? And if so was the merchandise good? I'm very cautious when things seem too good to be true. |

So you can buy the key without using the VPN. Then just switch the VPN on before you launch the Origin software and it loads the US store? (like Netflix regions) Can I use my UK Origin account do to this?
Once origin has loaded you can turn off the VPN and play the game. Yes you can do it with a UK account, I have one.

Yeah, I've been using the VPN method since Monday afternoon, 5pm uk time was Midnight in Korea which was the first to release. I've had no problems playing all week.
Really enjoying it.

Would The Sims 4 run acceptably with:
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2Ghz (Overclocked slightly to 3.7Ghz) Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT 512MB RAM: 4GB SimCity plays well but the system is a few years old now. |

I've downloaded this today and had a quick go. I've only really scratched the surface.so far, but I think they've got a good foundation to build on. It feels quite bare and empty at the moment, but no doubt there are dozens of expansions, stuff packs and downloads to come.
I love how Sims can multitask for the first time, and the new Build mode seems a lot simpler. The ready made rooms are particularly useful for quickly expanding a house. The unavoidable tutorial is a nuisance, as existing players will already know what the Eyedropper and Sledgehammer tools do and don't need every option explained in detail. Edge scrolling is annoying too, up/left/right work as expected, but down involves precision placement of the cursor slightly above the bottom of the screen. It doesn't work at all in build/buy mode. I miss the bigger neighborhoods and open world of The Sims 3, but the loading screens only take a few seconds even on my aging PC so it's not as bad as I feared. Looking at reviews and Sim forums, it's clear that the omission of toddlers and swimming pools is by far the biggest issue facing this game! |

Now I've seen a bit of gameplay I'm warming to it. The graphic style isn't as toony as I first thought, although some of it seems a little boxy at times.
Sure I can see that its a very vanilla base game, and its probably not long before the first EP/SP arrives, but it doesn't look as bad as first feared. And occasionally I'm a sucker for pointless gimmicks - like that USB glowing plumbob that comes with the CE. It doesn't improve gameplay, I'm sure, but it just looks so darn cool. Edit: Just seen that that version is £84.99 - are they kidding? ![]() I think this may become an impulse purchase. I take it that if I can run The Sims 3 ok, then I shouldn't have any issues with TS4? |
