I haven't played The Sims 4 a great deal as I found it very limited, so I'm glad to see there's new stuff planned (and the much demanded swimming pools will return). I've just received the latest update upon opening Origin.

EA certainly seemed to have listened to the fans.. and are trying to right a few wrongs. I am genuinely surprised that they are giving pools for free. I really expected them to be in a new version of the Outdoor Living EP.
I presume that they'll have to include a swimwear option with the patch as well. I don't want to see a full clothed Vader jumping in a pool.

I love The Sims 4, yes even without pools or toddlers!
![]() I see pools are now going to be included in the game. The game runs much faster than the Sims 3.

I'm glad I did my research before considering buying the game. The fact that so many things I love have been taken out (customization of objects, clothes etc.Pools, cars, the colour wheel,no open world) was enough to stop me getting the game.
These things which should have been in the base game will probably be sold in costly expansion packs or as DLC in the future, knowing the amount of respect (ha) EA have for their customers. Really this game should progress from Sims 3 - improve on it and add new things (more than 'emotions' anyway), not regress in quality. I thought they were going to add innovative features but instead they seemed to have taken away elements of the game that were great imo. I will be sticking with Sims 3. What with this and SimCity it's disappointing. |

Now EA have announced extra careers, pools etc, I may now consider asking for Sims 4 for my birthday....or Xmas
I really hope they put in a colour wheel though. Don't care about ever having toddlers added as I never played that way.Been watching gameplay on Youtube and it might be quite a relief not to have that large Sims 3 'open' world to trek around during the fast time in a sim day. |

These additions do go a long way in making the base game feel like a proper base game.
As for a colour wheel, I'm not sure if its possible, but I guess even a rudimentary one would be good. I don't think that TS3's 'any colour any texture' is a necessity, but the ability to just swap out a green shirt for an orange one, or one shade of wood for another on a cabinet would be most appreciated. |

The Sims 4
I have been playing The Sims 4 since it was released now. I came to it with an open mind as I could see everyone was bashing it. Ok its 'missing' a few things, but pools are on their way back, ghosts are back - and better than ever before, toddlers I never liked anyway....just create a style a miss
![]() But the depth of game play is a lot better |

OK I got it earlier than planned as I had a money-off voucher from Tesco to use which made a much more attractive price, especially when combined with some Clubcard vouchers too
![]() I'm a little disappointed that the push-pull method of changing facial features doesn't seem to have as many nuances available as in Sims 3 ........ and the number of hairstyles is woefully inadequate . The different building options are going to take me a while to master. Otherwise, so far so good. Haven't gone visiting neighbours as I can't be ars*d with the loading screens as yet. Time will tell, plus whatever patches they chuck at us should help. |

^I know what you mean with the load screens. TBH my Sims have only gone as far as the curb - plenty of joggers to meet. In fact one of them's ended up moving in....
Can I ask, anyone downloaded from the gallery? How safe is it? I'm a little unsure about it just instantly installing it in the game without the proper AV checks etc. |

I have a weird suggestion that randomly came to me last night. Does anyone else think it'd be interesting if they made the Sims become ill/injured?
Kind of like what they did with The Sims 3 with the allergies and the flu but more? Like, clumsy sims getting injured more often? Sims often fall off the treadmill, so I think it'd be fun if they sometimes became injured and it could affect their mood. Also, I think if certain players aren't into this or if you get bored of it, there could be a drug your sims can take or go visit a hospital to fix the injuries. I'd like to see injuries reflected when sims get into fights too, like the odd bruising on the face, etc and burns if they get caught in fires. I understand they can't make it too realistic because of kids playing the game and also to keep it fun, but I think it'd be interesting to maybe see in the Sims 5 if they make one. ![]() Also, does anyone know when the first expansion will be out and if there's any safe custom content site to use? I can't find any official custom content purchasing site like the Sims 3 used to have and I'd like something to make my game a bit different but I don't want to risk anything dodgy. Thanks.

Mod the sims is very safe. Been using them for years. I haven't tried CC for 4 yet though

Anyone know the date when the new patch comes out?
That does sound a little impatient, but it is November already...

Not played a great deal but it looks like they've done a great job on the pools. Although I expect someone is bound to complain that there are no curved pieces.
I love how you can now place pools on any floor as well. In that regard its TS3 0 - 1 TS4.

I'm looking forward to the careers update in December, more. I need more variety for my Sims as I've had them all under every available career already.

I loved the original Sims back in the day, didn't care much for the Sims 3 and never got around to playing the sims 2, will I like this version?

I have to say, I bought this a few days after release and loved it for a week or two. I then moved and had to wait for internet to be reconnected so played TS3 and now can't really get back into TS4
It's like I haven't got anything else to do on it yet, whereas I still have loads of holidays and tombs to search in TS3. My loading time on TS3 is ridiculous though so it puts me off playing it. Anyone got any tips to put a bit of excitement into my game again?!

You can get The Sims 4 for £24.99 on Origin today, which is a much better price compared to the usual £49.99.
Also, most Sims 3 expansions are available for £7.99 (RRP £19.99). |

Seems that a voice artist dropped a twitter hint that they're working on Seasons EP.
Take with a pinch of salt until confirmed though. |

^From what I understand, the December patch is just delayed a little. I think it was supposed to be the first week of the month, but they just said it wouldn't be. There has been a pic of a couple of new items, so its happening, just not sure when.
As for the EP.. like I said, just take it with a pinch of salt for now. It might not even be the first EP released. |

Careers patch now out plus, a free, yes free!, Christmas/Holiday DLC pack.
EDIT: Looks like its buggy. I tried the new Christmas items and none of them have names, just *debug*. Then the interactions for the Christmas tree are a set of numbers as well. Even if you click on the interaction, it doesn't appear in the Sim queue. Also had the same random numbers when going online in-game to get to Origin to d/l the darn thing. Not happy.
