Found that the 'coding bug' is affecting a few players, but "only a few" (according to EA) and that they are trying to work on a fix.
(FWIW I don't have any mods). And, found in the December patch update, the loading screens for a new DLC Game Pack "Outdoor Retreat" which supposedly comes with a new location; Granite Falls. http://youtu.be/EUa-1XmQW4I |

I have been playing Sims 3 since I last posted, thanks for the updates Ludwig, I'm going to log into my origin and see what happens with the updates.

No probs, I just hope you don't end up with the coding bug. I had not had any of it until this patch.

I played it for a few hours last night after downloading the update, it doesn't appear that there are any 'new' bugs, just my existing ones such as my sims or the maid being unable to wash dirty dishes! Fingers crossed it stays that way
I did like the new updates but not sure how long they will keep me entertained before I revert to TS3 to go tomb raiding

Any Mac owners buying SIMS 4 tonite? Must say I'm not in the greatest hurry to buy it but still want it. I'm remember when SIMS 3 came out a lot of people were saying that they would be sticking with SIMS 2 lol. It's received so many bad reviews though. EA are very transparent stripping everything back and leaving stuff for the expansion packs; it's the one reason why I'm not in the greatest hurry to buy it.

I bought it in the end, runs fine on my Mac. Bloody hell it's a bit thin though, I can see why people are so cross.

Anyone got the 'Get to Work' EP yet? Sounds like its getting positive reviews.
I've got my reservations thanks to the return of alien sims. |

Really thinking of getting Perfect Patio, is it worth it?
And, in Get to Work, do alien sims appear often or is it random like before? |

Still considering Patios. |

^That doesn't sound too bad then. However, I've decided to start the game up (first time since December). All updated to the latest patch....and there's that darn coding bug still there.
![]() Its putting me off even purchasing the add ons and its tricky to play when there's no descriptions. I still think its related to the Holiday Celebration Pack, but I can't find where that's kept in the folders. I've seen that there's a thread on the TS4 forum that suggests deleting the TS4 file. I guess that deletes everything and you start again? |

Make sure you save a copy of the Electronic Arts folder in your My Documents by renaming it "Back Up" or something similar and then un-install the game through Origin and re-install. Since I did that, I've not had the bug come back even when I've patched and installed other packs. |

^Thanks for the solution. Although my EA folder only has The Sims 3 in it?
To be honest I'm not bothered if I loose any TS4 saved games, so I guess it doesn't matter if it goes back to the start. |

Well I decided to go for it.
Long story short, I re-installed and went back in. I assumed it was all new so created my new Sims and then did one of these when I saw the new world did not have a name tag. I hastily went back to the main menu, started a new game and voila! (or whatever the Simlish for voila is) "Newcrest" appeared above the roundel. So far it looks like its worked. I've not played much, but hopefully it's done the trick. Thanks Cadiva! ![]() And I've just seen that there's going to be a game pack bundle (Party, Patio, Spa) coming at the end of the month. As I've not got any of them, its effectively an EP for me. Woo hoo! |
