Anyone got the 'Get to Work' EP yet? Sounds like its getting positive reviews.
I've got my reservations thanks to the return of alien sims. |

I really like the concept of GtW, the only thing that bothers me is that they took away the 'open world' feature in TS3 where you could switch between your characters across the neighbourhood without loading screens.
I like going to work with the Sims, however, if you have a sizable family, then you lose your control of those Sims while you're at work with another Sim. I wish you could just switch between them again easily like in TS3. |

New EP announced for November: http://www.thesims.com/en_GB/news/ge...ther-expansion Quote:
Your Sims’ wanderlust is at a fever pitch. They want to go somewhere totally different – a place where they can make new friends, see new sights, and have new experiences. They want to bust a move at a secret dance party at the Ancient Ruins. They want to enjoy a delicious espresso in a swanky Café. They want to live it up like they never could before. They want something... new. And soon, they’ll get just that.

Thanks for the info. Its a bit 50-50 for me. Some of it looks ok, but others a bit 'meh'.
Being cynical, is this a little bit of a 'lite' version of 'Late Nite'? |

^Very true.
Just heard about some of the ideas for EP that have been mentioned in a survey. Seems like they're taking parts from previous Sims expansions and stuff packs. "Generations" (same as) "Find Love" = Hot Date/Late Nite "On the Road" = Fast Lane/Vacation "Vacation" = Seasons/World Adventures/Vacation "University" (same as) "Get Real" = Late Nite/Superstar "Metropolis" = Late Nite "Power Up" = Movie Stuff and perhaps a little bit of Supernatural "Back to School" = Generations/University "Rebuild" - ?? Maybe a little part of Into the Future |

I really wasn't interested by Get Together, but then they released this "gameplay" trailer, and it looks better than I expected.

Amazon is now listing it as November 30th.
I'm seriously considering it just for Windenberg. |

Anyone any preferences or can give me their opinions on what's released already? |

^In case you're interested, you can get the Game Packs (GP) in a bundle with some of the stuff packs (SP), or individual so I guess its down to personal preference and budget of course.
With SP's going for c£7.99 and GP's at c£14.99. Bundles are in the c£29 region, so its not a great saving, but you do get more content in one go, so its sort of like having an expansion pack of old. Just not set to any one specific theme. And at least you can buy them all individually, so its sort of between the EP and the Store. Bundle 1 Spa Day (GP) Luxury Party Stuff (SP) Perfect Patio (SP) Bundle 3 Outdoor Retreat (GP) Cool Kitchen Stuff (SP) Spooky Stuff (SP) Those bundle names are from Amazon - I don't know what happened to bundle 2! haha Anyway, I have bundle 1 and it was a great addition to the game. A decent amount of additional items and game play. Spa Day is a decent Game Pack. It adds some nice build/buy items as well as the additional game play of the yoga mats and the massage table. Can anyone shed some light on Outdoor Retreat, is that a good game pack? EDIT: And don't forget the free Holiday Celebration Pack. EA has updated it for this season. Always nice to get some freebies. (Even if it did bugger up my game last year). |

Gameplay wise there's a few new items with added interactions like the horseshoe game, there's tents etc which are very handy if you're doing a rags to riches challenge. New skill of Herbalism which you can use to make useful potions etc. Urm, trying to think what else. Ah yes, cloud and star gazing which is brilliant for building up friendships, roasting things over the camp fire, new aspiration. |

Yes, it's excellent I think, it brings a whole new map with quite a few lots and places to explore with it as well as some great clothes, hairstyles and objects.

I've not had much of a chance to play it properly but you're right Windenburg is fabulous!
They've set the bar high for themselves on this one. |

Spent a bit more time in the game recently, and experiencing a little lag. None too happy with that.

^Thanks. I've lowered them a little and it seems ok. It might put me off going for any more add-ons for a while.
