I'm far from a Messi or Barca fanboy, and I agree with a lot of whats been said by people on here but thats a poor argument. We've just had an all Spanish Champions League final and all Spanish Europa League final, and people still ridicule it as a league. The fact that Messi's goals per game average in Champions League (0.78) is almost as good as it is in La Liga should tell you that he is capable of scoring high goals tally's anywhere.

I wasn't really serious about it, but because the German league is so "simple" with such few games, all Bayern Munich players are usually top fit for international tournaments

Oezil has actually been one of Germany's worst players (by their standards). Schürrle was the only good German from the Premier League and even he didn't have a permanent spot in the start XI.

as I said in a previous post Bayern won the bundesliga by 19 points last season and that was closer than it could have been if they hadn't been taking it easy the last couple of months after the league was won with about 8 games left to play

no-one is denying how good Germany have been or the quality of their players , still doesn't make a great league

Ozil had a fantastic game in the final. He was one of the best players on the pitch.

And the Daily Mail propoganda against Ozil has been false as well. He's been very good in previous games as well. His passing, dribbling and chances created stats are among the best in the tournament. There's a reason Michel Platini asked for Ozil's shirt.

Ozil has been fantastic for the Germans. Staticically, he's been better than Kroos and Lahm in most key areas. But when the British media decides they've got it in for someone (and they've had the knives out for Ozil since the middle of last season) it's incredibly difficult to shift their narrative. So even strong performances can be reported as "disappointing". And we the gulliable public often fall for it. Especially when Ozil is not really the type of midfielder known for scoring goals. But he's created a lot for Germany.

What I want to know is when did we decide to start spelling the German player's names with an extra 'e'? Did I miss an assembly or something because I can vividly remember Mueller being Muller, Oezil being Ozil, and Schuerrle being Schurrle. I don't mind either way I'm just a bit perturbed that something like that has changed and no-one has even mentioned it. I feel like I'm in an Invasion Of The Body Snatchers scenario!
