Super foods

Any of you eat/drink or take supplements of the following?

spirulina
chia seeds
goji berries
aloe vera

They are apparently superfoods or fads, although aloe vera has been used medicinally since the 70's and 80's to my recollection.

I've watched a couple of documentaries and these foods were mentioned, just curious if people here use them? I had to google spirulina as I didn't even know what it was.

I think I've seen virtually every pulse, grain, vegetable and fruit promoted as some sort of superfood over the past few years - then again maybe I should stop reading the Daily Mail

And then the next day they're saying they all give you cancer!

I've been adding chia seeds and spirulina to my rats' food for ages. I've been tempted to try them but I'm not sure if they're human-grade!

From what I saw, the seeds were added to some water, which then kind of turned into gloop and then they drank it. I'll be honest and say it didn't look too appetising. I could see adding it to a smoothie or something though.

For me and probably others it depends a lot on price and availability. I'm not likely going to find these things at ASDA, but I might be able to get them from Holland and Barretts in town, but I know they'd be a bit pricey.
