I don't think bb bosses wanted it to work the way it has been, with both HOH talking to each other about who they should both put up.

It's boring. Kinda want it to end next week.

3 more weeks of the twist and it just ruins things.

Another comp per week is pants... want to see more of what's going on in the house.

It's an awful twist. It really hasn't worked. I also hate the team america twist to. I get that they are trying to keep the show fresh and different but still... Not a fan.

I don't totally hate it. I like the fact that unlike a few recent twists, it's added a new element to the gameplay and strategy in the house, plus it's nice that the Sunday episode is worth watching in terms of having game events in it. (Or at least a little bit more than before)

To be honest, I think this was just the wrong season for the twist. The idea is nice in principal, but doesn't work well in a house with few rivalries and feuds. I think they may have expected the two HoH's to directly oppose each other and nominate different sides of the house, but to be honest there's no chance of that happening in a house that doesn't really have a big division. Maybe in a season like a BB6, it might have worked better (lets say if Janelle and Ivette both won HoH on the same night). All the twist has really done in this season is encourage playing it safe and putting up pawns in case HoH is lost.

I'm about 60/40 moving toward 70/30 on it [against/for], i'm kind of enjoying it from a pure entertainment aspect... just that there's more going on with two HoHs, the battle of the block, etc.... but i feel like it's holding things back slightly in terms of making big moves.

Like... say someone won who wanted to go after a few of the strong guys, it's difficult to go at them. If you put them up with the goal being for them to lose, the other HoH would have to be working with you to also put up two strong guys... but then they also have a chance at Veto in that scenario, and... three of those strong guys are coming down and going to be mad. (two initially and one after the vote)

Then... if you try to backdoor one of them, it has to be a majority thing because you would probably have to put up two weak players initially to lose, that means they remain on the block for Veto, so.... you're only going to be able to "backdoor" them if the majority of the house agrees because it would be one of those weaker players you put up initially versus the person you want to backdoor.

In the old way, i feel like you can actually take a shot at some of these stronger players, but i find that process a bit boring at times with less going on.


So... i'm conflicted.

It's dampened the excitement.

We're not really getting any less than usual though. The BoB comp just replaced the Have/Have Not comp for us.

It's only been implemented to encourage the elimination of floaters early on - nobody likes it when the big players go out early leaving a float-fest to the end. Let's face it, the likes of Paola would have probably made it to final 4 if it weren't for this twist so let's be thankful for that.

Spot on, it has sucked for floaters who on a normal season would be making jury. Paola had Spencer/Sharon/Kathy written all over her, as does Victoria actually.

I reckon week 4 will be the end of it, don't a lot of the twist end around that time on other seasons.

It's a good twist but starting it on day one was the mistake that the producers made. They should've waited until week three when divides and alliances had started to form.

It's not like anyone who won the first HoH was going to go to war against the other HoH. Everyone was bound to take the obvious route of teaming up and working together, and of course, everyone who wins HoH after that is going to follow suit.

The dynamic in the house right now is awful - they're all bundled up together in the hope they won't be the next one to be picked off, and I blame this twist for that rather than the cast (although, it is awful, overall). It's difficult to strategise with this twist as the HoH can't form any alliances or deals because they'll never have full control.

Time to ditch it now.

Team America was just a way to bring in secret missions more which have been overused elsewhere already. The jingoistic addition to it seems silly.

And I agree there are probably less rivalries in this cast, it shows the producers are taking the criticisms of last season? However last season had good ratings I think, so I think they made a mistake. Sometimes the BB audience complains but are hypocritical and watch more when they say they don't like it. It's worse with duller people or those who aren't even trying to play the game. Ok people may like Donnie but I don't see how he gets to the end, he's too oblivious to this BB. But the problem is there's too many like him in there, even Caleb seems totally clueless really.

As I said elsewhere it's good to have another game task. However this hasn't weakened floaters, we've seen too much of the house coming together and there has even been more opportunities to throw tasks (which I don't really like). The 'no blood on hands' gameplay has always been a weakness of BB anyway, nothing has really changed there.

We'd still be getting the Have Not comp if not for this twist, and that was far more pointless than the BotB comp.

I don't mind the twist, it doesn't screw with the fundamentals of the game like previous twists.

This season is getting good ratings.

From there, “Big Brother” (2.1/7 in 18-49, 6.6 million viewers overall) more than doubled the newsmag’s adults 18-49 audience, rising two tenths from last week to match its highest rating on any night since its Thursday premiere (June 26).

6.6 million is higher than the first 9 episodes of last year, the 10th hit 6.70 and 11th hit 6.91.

I like it so far.

I'd say give it some more time. It hasn't been too successful or entertaining so far due to both HOH's getting on. But soon, you'd hope, they'll be two who are either rooting against each other or at least have complete opposite ideas of who they want out.

Let's imagine that Devin somehow survives this week and both he and Zach win HOH. Now that's what CBS and us are hoping for.

Also, I like this addition simply for the battle of the block and filling the episode with more gameplay footage. The first nomination episode of the week could often drag in the past (have or have-not comp...) but now it blasts through the 40 mins.

It's very dull.

The producers were clearly hoping for some aggressive power struggle between the two HoH's, but it didn't work. The HoH's are so afraid of their nominees coming after them that the same people keep getting nominated over and over.

It may "get rid of floaters" like Paola, but Paola was at least interesting. I'd honestly rather see Joey, Devin and Paola going crazy in there than a few of the bores we have left.

It just takes out the fun...it was always great when your favourite won HoH, but if your least favourite is next to them then and they can be dethroned hours later it seems so pointless. The HoH's put no thought into their nominees so strategy is at a minimum etc. etc.

In conclusion, it's stupid and boring, I hate it and I hope they cut it this week.

Don't get me started on Team America. It's nice that Donny is getting money but the missions and the other two...

BIB - I actually stopped watching BB last year because I didn't like any of the housemates, it was the first season I've not watched.

I personally much prefer this season even though the twist does need to end soon but I think the housemates are a lot more likeable this year.

I was the same last year, I couldn't bare it when Elissa was gone and even before that I struggled with the hope she could do something to counteract the scum.

Team America is a joke, they were allowed to essentially come up with their own criteria on the last challenge, they could in theory have said "Jocasta is a physical threat" and won the money.

You must have watched some of it as you stopped watching at some point. You really liked nobody at all?

This year has plenty of inoffensive people but also just dull stereotypes as well. Some of it being the naive innocent American hero myth that they like to buy into, like Forrest Gump I suppose.


But you aren't the same as you say you did like someone (Elissa).

Is Andy that much worse than Frankie? Is Christine really that nice? Caleb is an arse? Men like him and Zach are pathetic, all Zach does is talk talk talk and shout in the DR. McCrae is many times better than that empty specimen Haydn who belongs on Dumb and Dumber. Jocasta and Donnie seem pretty much one trick ponies. The gameplay was far better last year, even if it didn't turn out how most wanted (you can't always get what you want, particularly when it isn't a public vote).

starry, are you watching the CBS shows without live feed? I'll try not to give too much away if so.

Hayden is anything but an empty specimen. What CBS shows of him is those delightfully spacy scripted DR sessions but he's shown himself to be a quick thinker.

There might have been substance to McCrae early on last year but he quickly devolved into an unbathed rutting vegetable. He had no opinions, only Amanda's Adderall.

I didn't like last season much, mostly due to the houseguests. This season is pretty much up in the air so far. Some of them are mad, some might pull it together in the weeks to come.

Edit - I do like the idea of the dual HoH twist this season, but I've said this before.

I know a lot of people have compared Frankie and Andy but Frankie has won 2 HOHs even if he has been dethroned. Frankie doesn't have an issue winning competitions. Andy always wanted to ride coat tails.

Because these people aren't utter scumbags this season I actually like it in comparison even if no big moves have happened yet.

I think it's been about a week since my last comment, so i'm updating.

Though last season was pretty awful with a 90% awful cast there was AT LEAST some interesting gameplay going on, and some characters which were extremely rootable. Candice figuring out the Moving Company and Nick's eviction, Aaryn winning HoH and the desperate power struggle in the house to save or evict Elissa/Nick, Helen's HoH and Jeremy's backdoor etc.

and the rootable characters of Candice, Helen, Elissa and Jessie...

This season, the gameplay is insanely dull. And it's because of CBS' idiocy. The producers are so dead set on "evicting floaters" (which is dumb to begin with. Dan, Danielle Reyes, Dr. Will and Neda's floater strategy is the most fun to watch anyway) that they made a twist which makes the HoH's cower in fear of ever making a play. For two weeks in a row four girls have been nominated - and Jocasta, Brittany, Victoria and Amber are all repeat victims because they're percieved as "weaker". Nothing is happening, and the weeks are routine.

Then the cast. They may be inoffensive, but they aren't even likeable. Donny, Amber, the now evicted Brittany, Zach at a stretch and Jocasta are really the only likeable characters. The others are all boring tryhards and they all just do what Frankie or Derrick want (even Amber is guilty of this).

In short, last season was bad but it was at least more interesting than this. Why? the 2 HoH's twist.

The 2 HoH's twist should've been that the two HoH's play in BoTB, and not the nominees. Still, though, they probably wouldn't try and make a move then.

Edit: I'm not saying last season was interesting. It really wasn't great. But at this point it was more interesting.

The latter stages of last season had zero interesting game play, it was clear there was no hope for Elissa unless she won competitions. Helen was a total moron of epic proportions.

I don't get the rose tinted view of BB15 when like this year the vast majority of votes to evict were unanimous (or essentially unanimous with only one vote for buddies here or there) with Spencer being the Victoria/Brittany of the season.

After week 1 and 2 BB15 wasn't interesting at all.

As boring as it may be hopefully this season we won't end up with such a weak final like last year were neither Andy nor GM deserved any money in my opinion.
