Dynamos tricks are usually variations of well known tricks done before by other magicians.
He also has no personality whatsoever, what a monotonous drone. |

Webb messed some decision up in his game. I forgot what, (I even forget what the match was) but I said at the time he would not get another game. Did he disallow a Brazil goal, or something?

If it was Germany vs Italy in the final then how would it break 'Argentinian hearts'?

Isn't there tens of millions of people who are either Argentinian with Italian roots or vice versa? I was surprised at the appointment of an Italian ref
* The final would be Europe vs. Latin America * Germany or Italy vs. Argentina * The youngest player would break Argentinian hearts |

In fairness to Dynamo, what he actually said was;
* The final would be Europe vs. Latin America * Germany or Italy vs. Argentina * The youngest player would break Argentinian hearts It's nothing more than a trick which many magicians do on a regular basis. If the results are announced after the event it's pointless, like Darren Brown predicting the lottery results, after they were drawn. |

That CD was sent to sky before the final. The CD for all we know is blank - it doesnt matter what is on the CD. Dynamo used his own CD player which plays some other pre-recorded message already in the CD player, and not from the CD. This message is pre-recorded after the final. He then turns up with his CD player, Sky bring in the CD and the illusion created is that the CD is played and we are listening to the CD. It would have been funny to see Dynamos face, if the presenter said no we are going to play this CD on my player. Which is another reasons why he doesnt tell anyone whats in the envelope. Virtually no chance of anyone having a CD player handy. With all that recording stuff in the studio, you would have thought they would have had something to play the CD, and should have used that. Dynamo is an illusionist. He doesnt do magic, he has a talent and has done well out of it. Fair play to him. |

But the cd trick has been done so many times before by other magicians.
It's like he goes to his local, admittedly high end magic chop, and buys a trick off the shelf. In my opinion, the best magicians invent the trick or the gimmick themselves, of have exceptional slight of hand and dexterity. Dynamo has neither. The modern magicians that use stooges and camera tricks, like Blaine and angel are not magicians at all, just showmen. May as well just do it in post with cgi and have done with it. |

In my view, the best magic tricks are the simplest ones. I remember a magician winning a competition years ago against all the high tech "modern" magicians, by just taking a piece of paper and cutting it into many little pieces with a pair of scissors and in the end the piece of paper was still intact. I can't remember the details, but I remember it was extremely simple. No illusions, no camera tricks, nothing fancy - just his hands, a piece of paper and a pair of scissors.

I enjoyed his World Cup trick, of course it was not `magic`, there is no such thing. He is a very clever illusionist, I prefer him to the pretentious David Blaine. Remember the time he lived in a box high above Tower Bridge in London (I think)? Passers by would hurl stuff at him and cry out, `Oi Blain, you ******!!` Now THAT was entertainment.

My post was edited because I used a word beginning with W and ending in R! As Alan Partridge would say, political correctness gone mad.

Without Googling it (and I'm sure, like most of Dynamo's tricks, the trick is something I could buy quite easily if I wanted to)

It is all done with technology - a gimicked DVD player designed to run say something from an internal memory rather that the Disc that is placed into it. It has been done many times before, and others have said, it is something you can buy off the shelf from magic stores. In these cases, the performer should mask the poor nature of the trick with a performance - but Dynamo is, imho, the least dynamic performer out there. I just find him boring, monotonous and he is certainly not a showman in any sense. What he does have, is a platform on tv and a profile - which he utilities well but with these tricks that have been done before. The bus arm trick - done before, and uses camera tricks too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9w2qOJ7pyKM We know its a fake arm, but its been done before by Johan Lorbeer. The bit that really grates is the camera trick at the end, making it look like he slid down the bus. Its painful. |
