EE: King Phil.. Would you like him to be "dethroned"?
Phil Mitchell is "top dog"/king of Walford at the moment.
Would you like Phil to be "dethroned" or would you rather Phil to remain as "king" of Walford? |

I'd rather they take him back to the early 90s era!
They need to rebuild him, and make the viewers love that character again! I'd like to see some of this from Phil again, AT 1:07 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJqRYt01XhQ |

Although I do have to admit that I quite admire Phil when he managed to crawl out of the arches like a tomato zombie when Jack Branning hit him

Do you really want me to answer this?
![]() He deserves the Norse Blood Eagle Sacrifice more than any other character in the show. The repulsive prick deserves some serious soap Karma for all of his disgusting crimes, and the people whose lives he has destroyed. ![]() ![]()

As she said she only cares about Roxy so I can't see her being bothered by Phil. I dont mind him resurrecting in a few years time but give it a few years - show him on the rocks for a bit. |

Dethroned by Sharon with Ronnie finishing the job please. I want Sharon to do it as it would echo the way Den did it in 2003 and it's a nice curveball for a woman to do it. Phil feuding with various hardmen has got very dull and it would go some way to showing the link between Sharon and Den.

Ronnie should be top dog of Walford, she looks the part and has proved she'll do anything to keep her family safe (in her eyes). Sharon can have her part of Walford (the Albert) and Ronnie can have the gym and the rest of his business.

There's some debate about whether that actually happened, but it's an interesting idea.

Such a shame his character is being destroyed. He has pretty much gone too far, even his 2 week crack addiction story wasnt this far-fetched. I think Steve is a great actor but at this point I wish it was Phil who had died and not Lucy.

Steve Mcf is a brilliant actor but Phil's character assassination over the years needs to be addressed. I want him to be taken down a peg or two but then again, without characters like Phil, the show would be boring imo.
You need the characters that get people talking, that do the wrong things, that divide opinion, otherwise I think the show would become stale. The producers know what they are doing, if they want you to root for a character or if they want you to dislike them, they can make that happen. My only concern with Phil is that in order to keep his status, other characters are sacrificed to allow him to stay there - Billy, Sharon, Shirley, Ben... |

They write him wrong for his age. He should always be an integral part of the Square but this 'owning' it thing doesn't work. By now, the only way he 'owns' it should be through respect from the residents instead of this tiny, red, sausage-looking, old man running around laughingly intimidating people to stay on the top. I really hope Sharon knocks him down a peg or two - she's the only character bar Grant that TPTB would ever allow get one over on Phil.

I wonder how this poll will go before i click it?
![]() Thought it would be worse not a bad following actually, and it would never be same if he wasn't the boss, until he leaves it will be that way. He rules the square from reputation now everyone will always be "oh better be careful you know what he is capable off, but have you noticed not so many punches just threats which he can still carry out. Keyser_Soze1 why do you use swear words at the character of Phil I've never seen anyone do this so much. |

![]() Personally I've got no problem with there being a 'top dog' or antagonist of the square, it can be interesting and open doors for characters to interact with a wide range of others. I just don't think it should be Phil, nor should it have been in the last 5 years at least. The 'I am the community and you will all obey my rule' stick is incredibly stale, to the point that Phil is pretty much a comedy parody of a soap hardman. It would also be great watching for Phil to be unseated and, more importantly, stay that way. Steve McFadden is really talented for a soap actor, give him something to get his teeth into that isn't 'owning' people half his age and half his blood pressure. Phil as a broken, former hardman is a much better character to me than what we have now. For contenders to his top dog throne, there are a couple of candidates. The obvious successor is Ronnie, we know what she's capable of and she gets it done. I liked the dynamic of her 'becoming Archie', let's see some more of that. For another antagonist, I think Dean. He's not your regular 'hardman', nor should he be, but I quite like him as a creepy loner pariah sort of character Almost reminds me Brendan off of Hollyoaks in a way.
