When Ken Barlow went to Canada (actor suspended) they said Adam had an epileptic fit. On Monday night Tracy described Adam as being "at deaths door" as someone with a close family member with epilepsy this is highly irresponsible of Coronation Street & I have lodged a complaint with ITV. My family member is a functioning member of society with a job, mortgage, kids, etc. to represent epilepsy in this way is outrageous. Epileptics have enough discrimination in the workplace without Coronation Street adding to misconceptions of the disorder.

huh? are you serious?

I doubt anyone even remember's the reason, it was a cover hardly a ground breaking storyline, if you wanna complain ask them what happened to David's invisible epilepsy he had for 3 minutes.

I thought they said Ken's Grandson had a blackout of some sort - not a fit?! That could be down to a number of conditions...

And yeah, if you want to take um bridge with anything surely it'd be David Platt's epilepsy rather than a hastily written non-specific reason for a character disappearing?!

People can be seriously injured or even killed in a seizure. He could have fallen and got a serious head injury that put him in a coma. Also there is something called "SUDEP", which is "Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy." Though I doubt he would have that. I hope that they don't kill off Adam though. He is the last link that the Barlows have to Susan and he's Mike Baldwin's son.

Are you for real? I really hope ITV laugh at your pathetic complaint.

Dear God, some people really do just sit at home waiting to be "outraged" by something so they can fire their letters off to OFCOM, don't they?

Let's say for a moment that he DID have an epileptic fit (I don't remember that long back), it's not that unusual for someone to die as a result of the fit, or be left in a coma. So even IF he did have an epileptic fit, Coronation Street has not been factually incorrect at all. Some people don't die of, say, cancer, does that mean that people in soaps shouldn't die of the disease? and so on and so forth.

I love how the OP has warned all corrie viewers to be aware as if they swing the almighty axe with this very silly complaint. Where's that roll eyes smiley nowadays?

I think people read to much into stories. Some of the soap is part of the viewers imagination. They cant document everything that happens. Who cares about the reason he went to canada.

I think I'm more outraged right now than I've ever been, and believe me, I'm always ruddy angry about something.
Absolutely shaking with rage here.
I've thumped my fist down so hard onto the table, one of the legs has fallen off.
How dare ITV play fast and loose with my emotions like this, who the hell do they think they are??
This isn't why I pay my council tax.

I'm gonna have to go and throttle some poor sod now, just to get this out of my system like.
Really hope my fussy neighbour is out there this morning, trimming his lawn with his scissors like he normally is.

The OP was right to alert me to this.

Morning Mr Meldrew.
How very dare you!

That kind of comment only serves to increase my rage, so you'd better go away and have a darn good think now about how irresponsible you've just been young lady!

The last time I was this angry was when my Magnum melted too quickly and fell off the stick just as I was about to bite into it.

The last time ken were mentioned, The kid had kidney failure, was awaiting a transplant hence why ken was away for months, this epileptic thing is a new slip of history and bad writing.

What are you objecting to ?
You can die of epileptic fits seizures) as a friend of my daughter did.

He could have had an epileptic fit and injured himself as well.
