I am a new viewer this year and I want to go back and see one of the series from the supposed 'golden age'. I was thinking BB5, but does anyone have any better suggestions?
I've seen fight night, and the characters just seem absolutely insane! I will probably go with 5, but I will ser what others think. Or maybe I should just start at the beginning, with BB1?
You know how in every series there's one or two housemates who end up flying under the radar and not really contributing much? BB5 doesn't have one of those. Absolutely everybody has a large role to play in the series, even if they're only in the house very briefly.
And, to give you a clue of how quickly and how much things went awry, the first proper eviction in which someone actually leaves the house due to the public vote doesn't happen until week 4. That's nearly halfway through the series.
I loved the simplicity of number two. There were lots of arguments at the beginning and I found it quite entertaining throughout with the night tasks etc. Though it was a vote to evict and being left with Dean and Elizabeth became a bit boring towards the last couple of weeks. Was my favorite though. and I've seen every single BB
I'd watch 3 before 5, because it was a very enjoyable series but 5 was such a game-changer that once you've seen it you'll be spoiled for the earlier series.
Bb1 and BB2 are very different to the show nowadays but if you just love the fly on the wall social experiment aspect of the show those two are the gold standard.
BB5 and BB6 for drama.
BB3 sorta fits between the two, but closer to BB1 and BB2

Yes they were aired a long time ago, but to be the first three can't really be beaten as they had an innocence there's no way housemates would have now, and the whole setup was a lot less extreme and full of ridiculous twists.. Yet despite that it was still wonderfully entertaining.
They let the housemates create the fun rather than having to generate it themselves.

I loved BB2 too. My favourite series. Very entertaining and was very professionally produced and directed by the BB team. There was no bias, each HM was given a decent amount of airtime, regardless of whether people found them boring or not, and it was a very feel-good series.
