BB5 but if you can find any live feed footage make sure you watch that also because so much was going on that even the feeds were great.
BB5 will draw you in immediately with the kitten fiasco..wish i was watching it for the first time.

Don't overlook 7 too, it was great (but did drag on a bit by the end).

I would watch

BB3, BB5, BB6, BB7, CBB 2006 - All great years, none perfect but BB5 comes close.

Then I'd watch CBB 2007 not that it was a good series but just so you understand why BB went to shit.

This may sound weird, but I rather liked Dean and Elizabeth yes, they weren't the most thrilling housemates, but they had intelligent conversations rather than boring housemates now who literally do nothing... I used to be able to watch a whole afternoon of them on live feed whereas I'm sure I couldn't have done that with a lot of the HMs in later series...

I liked the final 4 dynamic.. It was the 2 kids in Helen and Brian and the mum and dad in Dean and Elizabeth something for everyone.

I wouldn't watch any of them, I'd go outside and live. But if you must BB3, BB5, BB7 and the Speidi CBB are worth watching.

BB5 is great but my own favourite is BB6 - explosive, funny with serious heroes and villains, some legendary housemates and perhaps the raunchiest series to date!

I think it was the other way around.

Ok, I'm up to Day 10 of BB5.

Well, what can I say. First of all, I will talk about the HMs. They were actual, every day people, and therefore more relateable. It was also a more dynamic group, as opposed to a bunch of models and TV wannabes.
Next, the twists. They weren't necessarily more interesring but they were more fair, and less manipulative, such as the suitcase nominations.
Also, when did they stop the live Saturday task?
Oh, and the diary room was a lot more confidential. Something they said in BB5, which has stuck with me is 'the diary room is a place where the housemates can speak in confidence to big brother about their issues etc'. Well that's gone our the window hasn't ir?
Also they were tighter on 'no contact from the outside world' from what I've seen.

Apart from that it's unchanged but I appreciate those aew quite fundamental things.

I know who wins anyway, but so far, I love Nadia and Shell.

Do you have to say what website your watching it on?? TPTB will take all episodes down it's happened before when people mention it then just a few weeks later it's all gone and deleted!!!

Sarcasm right? It seems to have a really bad reputation on here.

I watched the first two weeks of BB5 and the first week of BB6, and they were both really good with fantastic characters. I struggled to stick witht them though!

I've now started BB7 and this is my favourite so far! Shahbaz totally destructs the calm of the house every day! Many interesting characters, and I like the Big Brotherhood thing as well.

Nikki, Lea, Pete and Glyn are my favourites!

I'm currently watching 5. Its so addictive I always thought my favourite was 3 but after rewatching 3 and now 5 I choose the latter. My views since I first watched have totally changed now that I'm older.

I'd go for 3 or 5. They were the golden era of BB. Very enjoyable.

They were really HM, real people with real flaws, not media whores that you see now.

Tasks were so much fun, no outside influence, HM were put through challenges. The show back then was a real test of metal strength.

BB6 - purely so you can see the best housemate of all time in action (Makosi)

I'm watching them all from the beginning too, but trust me, it takes longer than you think

I'm only on BB2 at the moment, if you do decide to start from BB1 or BB2 just letting you know not all that much happens. It's a fairly basic version of the show, and it focuses more on psychological analysis of the HM's rather than big drama.

My favourite of all time is 3. I did enjoy 7 as well. Both worth a look.

Oooh, BB5 hasn't even started by the end of week 2. You're missing a lot of good stuff...

Me too - I loved 6, but again some of the best bits were on live feed (the night of the ambassadors ball, The pool with Makosi and Anthony) There were so many characters in that series - Derek, Kinga, Kemal, Makosi, Craig, Maxwell, Saskia, Eugene, Science

Makosi's missions on LF were some of the best reality TV ever...the tension!

I only started watching Big Brother in 2005 so can't comment on the earlier series. Of those I have watched, BB7 (2006) stands out in my mind. Why? Because looking down the participant lists, I find I can remember almost everybody who took part in that series. Such a varied group of people, all interacting with gusto and conviction.

I genuinely think Makosi was an actress and the producers' chosen one. Funny how she was always the HM who went to the diary room, or pushed the button before the Secret Garden task.

Anyway, loving BB7! Very fast-paced! I'm up to Day 12 (the live ep where Sam and aisleyne enter.

So much has happened!

Firstly the Big Brotherhood twist, then shahbaz's antics with the other HMs, and him walking, Nikki tantrums and arguments against Grace, Dawn's secret code, Sezer and Imogen, Pete and Lisa, George now threatening to walk, New housemates entering (which is always a good way to shake it up)Very full on and entertaining!
