A lot of people don't want to contribute to threads. They just start another one. Is it a "control" thing ?. By the way. I contribute to a lot of threads.......

i notice it's the same people setting off a lot of threads. GAL....

It's a "Steven" thing.

I am aware of the ones who are starting these threads. I refuse to participate

So you start a thread. I do agree though, I'm more of a participater than a starter.

i don't post much...I rarely read every post in a thread and i figure that others must be the same so...if i have something to say and i want it read..i start a new thread..but doubt i do it even once a day

With live feed there was always something happening which could justify a new thread. Now that we don't know what's going on most of the time, it's hard to dream up a new thread that isn't a duplicate of so many others.

This place is quiet compared to the old days so " a lot of new threads" is a few compared to the olden days .

I beg people to go back a page or two looking for a thread, or use the search function.

Yet even then, just recently, some one did just that to make a comment on a HM & was turned on for "dragging up an old thread".

Slightly ironic that you start a thread to complain about people starting threads I do sometimes start one because I have something to say and I can't be bothered trawling through the site to find out if there is already a relative one there. I'm not scared of the thread police

There hasn't been a "What do people like about Ashleigh, I just don't get it?!" thread for a remarkable amount of time.

Do you want to start one?

I had to go into the wool and craft shop earlier and was looking at all the cotton and thought the same thing

I'm an infrequent thread starter, a twisted infrequent thread starter.

I like lots of 2 or 3 page threads, if they go past 4 pages they're too much of an investment.

I would bet that I haven't started even one thread per year. I just join in mostly.

Sometimes people start a new thread on the same topic because pesky people kept disagreeing with them on the first one.

I totally agree OP.

There are so many threads on the same/ near identical/ similar stuff.

It's a shame as some threads are actually pretty in depth and genuinely insightful and interesting, and they can just get bumped to the cheap seats on pages 3 and 4 etc and then forgotten about.

Also- If you make a point on one thread on some new development, you then see many other similar ones, where unless you almost rinse and repeat the exact same post multiple times, your point also gets lost in the mire.

I can't say I'm a fan of appreciation threads but there's actually something to be taken from them.. Just a suggestion but people could make 'Official *insert HM here* threads' for each of them (both positive and negative) in the main forum and this should be the 'go to' thread for that person. The main gist of their 'journey' (puke) will all be in one place rather than scattered like the wind.

It would actually be interesting to see over time if people's opinions actually change all that much on them from start to end.

In the 12 years I have been a member here, I think I could count the number of threads I have started on one hand - maybe give or take a finger. I much prefer to participate on threads that are established with lots of different points of view.

Ahh the good old days when the BB forum would regularly crash the entire server. Oh how they all loved us in the various forums.

I hate the save such and such threads. We get like 5 of them a day when the forum favourite is up. It's just pointless, why not just put it in the appreciation thread ?

LOL ... when BB was really popular, within 30 mins of starting a thread it could be on page 4 or 5

Not to mention the times that we managed to break DS - too many posters posting at the same time ...

yeah meltdowns, imagine if Helen had been in one of the earlier series.
The mods also did a better job at merging threads then as well.

Too many threads, too much PMT, too many cats, not much empathy.

I'll take a cat. Has to be cute, house-trained and do ninja cat stuff like leaping around and catching things. I think I'd like a black one like a mini panther please.

Deal?
