RIP Johnny Winter
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-28341306
Fantastic guitarist, especially bottleneck slide. Surprised Johnny lasted this long considering the amount of drugs, booze and fags he has consumed through the decades, Rock on, crazy white dude. |

I'd long forgotten about him until last night when I watched Guitar Heroes on the BBC, and he was performing Jumping Jack Flash. I wondered what had happened to him, and meant to look it up, but forgot, and now this.
![]() Sad news, but as you say, he probably lasted longer than he could have. |

Lots of great Johhny Winter music online, but for something different here's Muddy Waters with Winter on guitar and demented shouting:

Even when he was young (70s) I thought he looked a lot older than his years. Clearly a very good blues rock guitarist but around his time there were so many others doing similar. Appreciated more in the States than here I suspect.....RIP JW.
