thing is - I like him , he's obviously a decent bloke and a terrific artist , but ... he is boring , and he just backs down from every conflict , I understand he wants a quiet life , but last night when he was blaming himself for being paranoid to Biannca I just thought - oh grow a pair , stand up for what you think for once .

6 weeks in and I just can't see him coming out of his shell , maybe he's one of steven's butterflies - he's turned into a caterpillar .

I can see why some would think he is boring..then again that could be due to what BB wants to show-

Matthew Davies @MatthewDavies__

Chris is such a nice man. He gets barely any camera time because he talks about intellectual things rather than people. #BBUK

Surrounded by ME people, the poor bloke is suffocated to death, out of all the house, he is the one I would most like to sit down with and have a pint and a good old chat, all the others would bore the pants off me before I finished my pint.

I really like him, he has more than anyone this series been my consistant favourite (There was Christopher on Day 1 and Mark for a little bit, Ashleigh and Kimberly also hovered around top spot at one point but Chris has pretty much always been up there).

I don't get where this "Boring" thing comes from but there was the same argument against Sam last year and Luke A in BB13. So if you decide not to get in to arguments and keep your bitching to a minimum that makes you boring? Is conflict the key to entertainment? Or is it getting drunk and taking your clothes off? He gets involved in tasks.

A lot of people who make the argument of "He's Boring" fail to divulge what their idea of entertainment actually is.

I find Mark, Winston, Helen, Ash, Steven, Kim & Biannca very boring, they're too predictable.

he is a bit boring, but he's less boring than people like Winston and Ash who think it is the height of hilarity and wit to shout "top shagger" then ROFL like schoolgirls

I like what I've seen of him..........In there he is the closest thing to a normal bloke who knows how to conduct himself.......latest example being when Bianca confronted him about talking about her.dealt with it flawlessly.
He often reflects what I am thinking when he is in the diary room too..you can always see where he is coming from.

He doesn't bore me, he annoys the hell out of me.

What is it about Chris that people can't see through?

He lives at home with his parents in one of the most boring towns in the UK. Any youngsters with any ambition know that the one thing they have to do is get the f out of this area. Rich, retiree, middle class, comfortable and so nice in some ways it's sets the teeth on edge.

His acting career seems to be going nowhere.

It's quite surprising just how unsuccesful he has been over the last 10 years or so considering the amount of films/TV that have been made that use UK actors in quirky odd looking roles.

And yet people keep saying "Chris is so intelligent, so interesting"
Really not, smug, arrogant and basically a big fail.

I would have thought it fairly evident by now that BB cast HMs to perform certain roles and edit them accordingly. Hence we have Mark the lovable Scouse, Helen the argumentative trollop, Winston Jack the Lad, Ashleigh & Danielle the Corner Coven, etc. It is evident Chris has quite a sharp/caustic sense of humour from the DR yet he is hardly ever shown interacting with other HMs apart from the Corner Coven for a bit of a bitch yet Danielle and Ashleigh are often in the pod alone so Chris presumably spends most of his time curled up in bed.

I don't think he's intellectual at all. He's just one of those people who sits on the edge of a group, doesn't really participate and just takes it all in. People like that are rarely unpopular though, and Chris isn't.

The thing that irritates me about him is that he answers every remotely challenging question like a politician. He never gives a direct answer.

Why is it so impossible to understand that people like him simply for who he is? There's absolutely nothing to see through!

Why shouldn't he live at home? Especially in these tough economic times there's no shame in it .... especially as a jobbing actor. Have you any idea how many roles are available in this country compared to actors? Even more established actors struggle to find steady regular work. Maybe he's proud of where he comes from. Perhaps it shows a humbleness to him .... and maybe, just maybe he's happy.

Chris seems like a nice guy. But ultimately, the show (and it is a show, after all) is about conflict and insanity. If he chooses not to get involved, fair enough, I don't blame him, I wouldn't either. But equally, if he's not prepared to get his hands dirty, why did he apply in the first place? He might coast through to the final, and possibly even win, but it'll seem a bit sh*t if he doesn't give us viewers, us emotional vampires, a little more.

I agree OP. Emma's trite irritating 'just because you're different doesn't mean you're boring' What twaddle. He's not different, he is boring and dull and a coward and not nearly as intelligent as he thinks. We've had plenty of this sort in BB before and at least one that won cough Luke A cough.

It's not like there is only a choice between the likes of Biannca and the likes of Chris. We do have inbetweens. Take Ashleigh who personally I'm not a fan of but she's hardly boring and she is as intelligent as Chris and certainly isn't as cowardly as him.

I like him ! My favourite. Would love to see him win. That said…. perhaps if the house had been filled with interesting, fun, non chavvy types who provided great entertainment and fun, then his popularity would be no where near as high as it is.

I think what has helped Chris's popularity enormously is the level housemate wise of what he is up against. Cringeworthy self obsessed Stephen and his robotic shag mate…… ex call girl and foul mouthed drunk Helen and her equally odious partner in crime Ash, professional reality expert Mark who knows exactly what to do display the behaviour of a "winner", and Danielle to an extent who can't make up her mind if she is a nun or webcam mistress.

Along with Chris, only Christopher and Ashleigh stand out as the diamonds amongst lumps of coal in there, so I can see from that how is popularity is as high as it is. Lovely guy !

PS How could I forget Bianca, but then perhaps my mind has deliberately blocked her after the leg spreading incident last night !! UGGGHHHHH !!!

So was the little speech about him not caring whether he woke up in the morning a pack of lies?
That's quite an indicator of unhappiness I would have thought.

And if it was lies, it's pretty low to play on people's empathy like that.
