That's quite an indicator of unhappiness I would have thought.

And if it was lies, it's pretty low to play on people's empathy like that.”

I meant happy with his humble background. You seem to look down on where he lives, living with his parents etc .... why should that be used against him?
He does obviously have self esteem issues. Maybe also why he feels more secure at home at this time in his life.

Lots of people will find him boring, I accept that. I don't because I appreciate his intelligence, warmth and humour (what little we've been allowed to see of it anyway). Matthew has said he is an interesting conversationalist and a nice guy, but we don't see it because of the Steverly/Helen show that BB have decided is "entertainment". He's also non confrontational, which again some may see as boring or wimpish. I don't. I see him as measured and calm, something very much needed in a house full of shouty egotists. What is the point of saying, "yes I said the word bitching" when being cornered in a forced confrontation with Helen? She and people like Jale, have already proved that they are not prepared to listen to reason, and will simply shout you down, talk over you or tell you to F off when you try to explain yourself. He may as well talk to the big head in the bathroom. He does what the reasonable majority of us would do. He gets it off his chest in the diary room or in conversations with those closest to him. That is how society survives and how Chris is just managing to survive in there.

Most of them are "in small doses" people to me and would probably entertain me for an evening, but the likes of Chris, Christopher, Ashleigh, Matthew and possibly Pav and Mark (without the cameras around) would be the sort of people I could relate to, in the long term and on a deeper level.

It takes all sorts to make a world (and a reality tv show).

I don't look down on him, just trying to understand why people are supporting a person who looks down on others.
And imbuing him with attractive attributes that make his looking down on others more acceptable.

Even Ashleigh piped up and said she knew there would be different types of people in BB.

The point that so many are missing is that within the house, the very different type of person has accepted Chris.
Is it so much to ask he pays them the same courtesy?

Several people have judged him or looked down on him for various reasons, why is he not allowed to do the same? At least he has solid reasons for doing so imo.

He's one of the few housemates who has things to say which make the show interesting to me. If he was just drinking lager dropping his shorts and jumping in the pool he would be boring.

it`s impossible to know whether he`s boring or not considering that the producers are only concerned with camera seekers, idiot drunks and showmance types. they only put people like chris in to create the illusion that there`s a varied bunch in there, but why bother when they show us bugger all of him.

I think what has helped Chris's popularity enormously is the level housemate wise of what he is up against. Cringeworthy self obsessed Stephen and his robotic shag mate…… ex call girl and foul mouthed drunk Helen and her equally odious partner in crime Ash, professional reality expert Mark who knows exactly what to do display the behaviour of a "winner", and Danielle to an extent who can't make up her mind if she is a nun or webcam mistress.

Along with Chris, only Christopher and Ashleigh stand out as the diamonds amongst lumps of coal in there, so I can see from that how is popularity is as high as it is. Lovely guy !

PS How could I forget Bianca, but then perhaps my mind has deliberately blocked her after the leg spreading incident last night !! UGGGHHHHH !!!”

Oh my gosh! THIS^ is exactly how i feel, spot on about Mark too.

It would be interesting to see how much air time he's got in comparison with the others. If there was anything like parity, then perhaps charges of being boring might be justified. He's simply hardly shown at all.

I still remember the first day when he was ostracized and no one would offer him a bed to sleep in.

There are many, many times when he is in camera shot, part of the large group of people they are showing.

Is it the producers fault that in those scenarios he doesn't say anythng, puts over his opinions, or contributes?

He's shown plenty, he doesn't say/do anything when he is being shown. He spends the majority of his time with the large group in the smoking area, the group people are saying are hogging the air time.

What is it about Chris that people can't see through?

He lives at home with his parents in one of the most boring towns in the UK. Any youngsters with any ambition know that the one thing they have to do is get the f out of this area. Rich, retiree, middle class, comfortable and so nice in some ways it's sets the teeth on edge.

His acting career seems to be going nowhere.

It's quite surprising just how unsuccesful he has been over the last 10 years or so considering the amount of films/TV that have been made that use UK actors in quirky odd looking roles.

And yet people keep saying "Chris is so intelligent, so interesting"
Really not, smug, arrogant and basically a big fail.”

I'd rather live in a 'boring' town than where I live in London right now. Not everyone is the same, you know?

I think he's allowed this to define him. I do remember it now you've reminded me and it was really shitty but we've moved on, the House has moved on and yet he seems stuck in that mentality. He is as afraid to speak out as he was at that time. He looks nervous and a bit shady to me. It's like he's always trying g to hide and escape from ever having to actually express himself. TBH it's like Pauline never left for him and he remains under siege.

I think what Matthew said on twitter about he doesn't get shown as he doesn't talk about people. I feel like he's struggling mainly because of the big characters in the house why show Chris when we can watch Helen and Bianca bitching about Danielle

"Big characters" is a phrase synonymous with "annoying gits" yes?

Yep, totally agree. Absolutely no point in arguing with these people. It would be turned around and blamed on him.

Hard to say anyone is boring when half the time they don't even put them in the show. Same for Christopher and Matthew. The only way to get airtime this year is to screw on camera or have a fight with Helen. Millions of people of people on earth have done neither, doesn't make them all boring.

It is if they edit out the 40 minutes of conversation he was contributing to, to only show the 30 seconds where Helen says something rude.

Emma thought that those ghastly twins were hilarious and she believes the Steven cra@p about his millionaire status She hasn't got a clue. She just reads out her script, toes the BB line and banks her salary.
