There are 14 basic rules regarding life inside the Big Brother House. They are set out in their simplest terms below. In agreeing to take part in Big Brother, the housemates are agreeing to abide by the rules.

1) There is no contact with the outside world.

2) Housemates are filmed 24 hours a day and must wear personal microphones at all times.

3) The Diary Room is the only place in the House where Big Brother will acknowledge housemates individually.

4) Visits to the Diary Room are compulsory.

5) Nominations are compulsory.

6) Housemates must give frank and honest reasons for nominations.

7) It is not permitted to discuss nominations, or try to influence anyone else's nominations.

8) It is not permitted to discuss details of how they'd spend the prize money (if they were to win).

9) Eviction is decided by public vote.

10) All tasks and challenges are compulsory.

11) Housemates must not act violently towards any other housemate.

12) Housemates are free to leave the House at any time.

13) If any housemate breaks the rules they may be asked to leave the House.

14) THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE OF ALL: Big Brother reserves the right to change the rules at any time.

If there is another series I would like to see it with all of these rules enforced, plus a 24 hour live feed for the viewers, I know the producers want to move forward but with all the old rules in place and the LF, it would seem new for a lot of viewers as the rule book was torn up years ago, it would also get a lot of old viewers to watch the show again.....

The problem with rule 14 is it makes the other 13 rules null and void.

I wouldn't describe removing LF as moving forward. For me, the appeal of this show is it's interactive. Anything that leads to us knowing less about what's going on in the house, or us having less control over evictions is a step backwards.

Indeed ... and it's frequently brought into play. Lose that one and stick rigidly to the others, I say.

My greatest wish would be that there really was no contact with the outside world as in the early series. They didn't even originally have any way of telling the time back then, if I remember rightly. They should not have the pointless messages from home and I would definitely stop the housemates being able to hear the crowd at live evictions because hearing boos and cheers can give them too much information about how they are being perceived. It would be so much better if they had no idea if they were going down well with the public or not so they could not change their behaviour accordingly and we would see the real person. It would also increase any paranoia.

In my post I never described removing LF as a move forward, take another look, in my opinion LF is the most important aspect of the show, without LF it is not really big brother how can it be, the whole idea is that the HMs are watched at all times.....

Why make up any rules when BB can change them at any time. By the way . what the hell is an LF. Use ordinary language . not abbreviations please. Its called one upmanship

LF is short for live feed, and has been used on this sight for quite a while now, but you probably know that.....
