Would we see less fake housemates if this was the case?

It seems like 70% of housemates are from the south, with a particularly disproportionate amount coming from London and Essex. But that's the case with pretty much every show.
London and Essex are the go to place for the 'wannabe celebrity' type, go figure. But even those from outside these areas who are cast are wannabes.

London is full of very different types of people. Why should a potentially good housemate not stand a chance of going in because of where they're from.

There's 7 million people in London and over 60 million people in the UK. Why should the other 53 million be sidelined?
There could be interesting people from North Wales or Shropshire but they only ever choose Londoners or Essex types.
as it's in Borehamwood it should only be residents of Hertfordshire, with the odd guest housemate from outside the county

Given that 10% of people in the UK live in london alone, it makes sense that they are more represented in the BB house / more chance of finding good housemates in London
I'm sure Toya and someone else is from London- technically Zoe is too since she works in the west end

It's actually 8.3m at the last count in 2012.
