Hi all,

Today I have just fitted a new HDMI switch to my setup. I have now noticed that whenever I press the right arrow button on my freeview box remote - it turns on the android box. How Can I stop this?

You probably can't, as it's unlikely that either unit has the capability of changing remote codes.

Unfortunately it's an example of manufacturers choosing remote codes poorly

I'm presuming it's nothing to do with your new HDMI switch?.

I am presuming it is not to do with hdmi switch, as i am sure I saw the android box turned on last week (it was not plugged in to the HDMI so did not matter), but is more obvious now, as the new switch is auto switch. I have found a way round it, just make sure I point the remote more directly at the freeview box.

Thanks for your help

Some boxes (one example Humax and Panasonic) can have their remote operation selectable from a list to prevent such clashes, if you give your exact model somebody may be able to help.

Unfortunately it's a pretty rare feature, and really only for use where you have two similar makes in the same room (such as two Humax boxes) - it's VERY unlikely a cheap Android or Freeview box would have that capability.

I have an LG TV and Scott DVD player in one room. Volume on the TV remote causes the DVD on screen display to cycle through. Volume on the DVD remote causes the TV to change source.

Nikkai TVs (from Maplin) clash with some Chinese DVB-T boxes remotes.

Life was so much simpler when we got out of our chair and turned a knob on the TV.
