Anyone had good results voice recording on a tablet ?

Ive had exel results using my desktop and mic , recording into audacity software.

I looked at my android tablet and dont see a slot to put in a mic.

Looks like the only option is the built in mic .
It would be handy to record on my tablet and save switching on the big desktop ( and the noise ) and 10 mins booting up !
I just want to talk into the mic and get good, clear audio.
Any one get good results ? using wot software ?

RecForge II is good software that is comparable to Audacity in terms of its presentation, although nowhere near as powerful in terms of editing capabilities etc.

In terms of microphones, you cannot hook up a standard 3.5mm-jack microphone to a tablet's headphone socket, but you can get mics designed specifically to be plugged into a smartphone or tablet. Search Amazon for "smartphone microphone" to get some ideas.

If the tablet has bluetooth (most smartphones do) a bluetooth headset should work as a recording source.

Thats an interesting idea, the tab does have bluetooth
for the keyboard.
But in the end am I going to get a quality recording to equal using my desktop comp and a proper plug in mic ?

I assume you could just plug a USB microphone in.

Although a USB microphone might be attachable via a USB OTG adapter, it is extremely unlikely that the OS would know what to do with it.

I haven't tried voice recording on my nexus 7 yet, although I've often pressed the voice command by mistake.

Have only heard my voice on a video I made on it.

I think xxtimbo misread OS as OP (wouldn't know what to do with it)

OP = "original poster"

OS = "operating system"

For clarity.

(the danger of bloody abbreviations)
