I cannot help but compare Jonathan's comments to Michael's comments about dwts (Mike's twitter mw55) with Jonathan's. Maybe Mike did have two left feet but he completely immersed himself in the experience and decided not to complain. There are myriad of reasons to do the show and how a celeb handles the process tells us a lot about them. It is like any competition or reality show - twists, turns and setbacks along the way. I agree - winning does not really change a life, it the experience of participating that changes you.

I can see where a celeb goes in thinking this will promote me (which it will) but they also gain something else which is in a way much more than just getting their face on a hit show. If I thought it was just about technique and no soul or heart I don't think I could watch anymore. When both come together it is magical.

After tonight I do think the right people are in the final and anyone of them could win it. That important freestyle will be everything.

Janel would be a worthy winner but having Derek and Mark is an advantage with the voters. Sadie and Bethany are good dancers too though, as is Alfonso. All four would be worthy winners based on dancing.

With this final 4, anyone but Sadie and I'm happy!

A strong show! But some inflated scoring.

Bethany stole the night imo. A good opener. A great second.
Janel I thought was very over scored. She struggled for balance during the first and Val was also dragging her a little. The second was a weird AT. Don't think it suited her.
Sadie had one of her poorer weeks for me. Again over scored. Her second was her best but looked a little weak in her lower body.
Alfonso was OK. Thought his AT looked like a little like a paso and that Witney danced it poorly. I didn't love his contemporary. No chemistry or sparkle.

I feel that both Janel and Bethany have over taken Alfonso now. They are more flexible and I believe their dances more.

I like Sadie but can't be doing with Mark's petulance and rudeness, so....anyone but Mark for me!

Yes I thought Bethany and Derek's comtemporary stood out for me and also I preferred Janel and Val's dances this week. Compared to either Alfonso and Witney - I did a double take and thought are they dancing Paso again!!! Sadie and Mark didn't make an impression on me this week, they seemed to have faded a bit.

What was Peta wearing this week, wild and whacky outfits, very distracting or was that the idea! The ballerina in a music box idea, creeped me out, it reminded me of Marie Osmond dressed as one of her dolls, ew flashbacks.

This is STILL Alfonso's to lose .
Sadie's BEST bet of winning is for 1-Bethany to finish 4th ( (because MOST of Bethany fans will vote for Sadie & Mark ) OR 2- to deliver the BEST freestyle on the night.

I will be VERY happy with anyone winning EXCEPT Janel; Cant stand her or Val (this season) and Im 90% sure that they are not going to win anyways .

I think that I know what Mark has in stores for his freestyle.........hmmm......would keep my mouth shut on that one

This is the first season I have watched any DWTS and feel very sad that Artem will have to go down similar routes to Derek and Mark in order to grab the attention of the partisan public.

As a new viewer to DWTS I think your above statement should read there used to be hierarchy on DWTS. Mark wanted Henry as the extra pro and his attitude on camera beggared belief. Artem may be a new pro but he didn't deserve the churlish, childish attitude from Mark when he and Lea were eliminated. I am sure you saw him snub Artem and Lea. It was so blatant.

This could be a fun thread but no wonder people don't post on here. You are so blinkered where Mark is concerned it isn't worth the bother.

So when Mark bleated (repeatedly) about the line of respect amongst the pros being broken over the trio picks (or however he put it) and his 17 year old partner put her hands over his mouth to try and silence him, what did you see? And when Mark not only didn't join the group to say good-bye to Artem and Lea, but very deliberately stood apart, what did you see?

This is my biggest problem with dwts as Tristan said it should be about the celeb not the pros. This stupid 'hierarchy' ruins the programme with bias judges, favourism, dance choices and song selection. Mark attitude to/about Artem was awful so what if he is new he was doing the same as Mark was doing which was trying to get the best pro for his celeb.

Tbh I thought Sadie's routines were poor this week the whole guitar thing interesting idea but ruined the dance didn't like her quickstep needed more in hold and she needed to bring her shoulders down I thought this was her weakest week

Absolutely love both Bethany and Derek's routines superb they are improving at the right time

Janel and Val deserves her place in the final but slightly underwhelmed

Alfonso pity he is injured and he should put his health before the show but it is his choice two understandably underwhelming dances and Whitney needs to watch her choreography as it can be a bit samey or a mismatched of different styles instead of what it is supposed to be.

Four worthy finalists but if I had to pick 1 I would go for Bethany and I wouldn't have said this a few weeks ago but she has improved so much. It will come down to the showdances.

It is sad if Sadie were punished for Mark's attitude but it seems like that is how it is gonna play out. And if Bethany dances a phenomenal freestyle but people won't vote because "Derek has won too many times." Whitney's choreo will be tested around Alfonso's injury.

Could very well be Janel's game to win.

It's frustrating to see TPTB play favorites with the pros but Shrug its not going to change, that's the way it is.

I like Bethany but No I'm not buying into the " Bethany is the most improved out of the girls " that samba deserved 7s or 8s at best.... First , she spent too much time on the bench to start off with and where was the samba bounce ? why was Sasha included in the performance ? But since its Derek , she will receive 9s across at the board; Had it been another pro, they would have been slated for that.

She would have NEVER made it this far without Derek : Fact.
Oh and I loved Bethany's contemporary btw but her 1st dance was vastly overmarked !!!

Sadie wont be punished my Mark's attitude because I dont see anyone complaining about it except the Artemites here. A lot of people who dont even like Mark are rooting for him this season and Sadie and say that they are loving Mark this season ..... Like I said , some people want to see what they want to see because they feel like he has done wrong by Artem............Please

I think that its a bit cruel for the judges to give him the Jive as their judge's choice (well I like it because it's my favorite dance from them ) but given his health, I wished they would have given him something more slow-tempo.... Im sure they will do GREAT though

I think Mark has been very supportive and sweet with Sadie. I like that part of him. I think he is a good teacher.

He seems irritated at the judges this year more so than ever.

I did not think the Henry thing was a real problem because it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened. Mark went with Emma, did beautiful choreo and they got all 10s. So I cant figure out why he would be mad at Artem for that??? Maybe initially but not once he accepted he had to work with a female pro and got on with it.

There could be things going on behind the scenes that we are never privy to.

One thing I have noticed is that if you are on camera your every word and moves are scrutinized. It has got to be nerve wracking for celeb and pro alike.

Whilst you watch without any bias at all ....


As a general point, I don't know what the discussions on other blogs and boards really have to do with opinion here, other than as general background. It's a UK board and the UK FMs will have a UK perspective on things. Being told 'we don't get it' or 'what people in the UK need to understand...' isn't necessary. When I post on one of the US boards, I accept that things will be seen through different eyes and I adjust to that.




The trio thing was discussed on one of the US forums at the time, but I get the impression, that if Mark's attitude does play against them, it's the BIB that irks rather than any personal peeve he might have with Artem (which, naturally, has a more 'local' currency ). Mark's been on good behaviour for several seasons. It's a shame to throw it away. Still, Maks flounced and griped year in, year out and it didn't harm his popularity .....

I think it's a pretty open field at the moment. You could make a case for any of them 'deserving' to win. If the freestyles are all rubbish () then other things will come into play, but I'd put money on the freestyles deciding things.
