I went to a restraunt in Manchester a few month ago and my friend had a burger that was sandwiched between two glazed do-nuts........ That has to be worse than brioche

Brioche buns are great! Sainsburys sell them so you can recreate all that Brioche bun burger loveliness at home.

I do ask for plain because I am familiar with their burgers but it can be a problem at other places when it doesn't specify on the menu.

A lot of people i know remove the gherkin rather than wait for a plain one to be made. As there are 35k McDs around the world, it probably would save them millions if they reduced gherkin usage by even a small percentage, it wasn't an exaggeration!

Have you ever watched it? Only the last bit is about a food challenge, the rest showcases amazing looking restaurants with food that we would kill to have over here.

I'm sure McDonalds have looked into this, I doubt they spend millions just for the sake of it.

I think they must have. There is an urban legend that the burgers would have to be classed as confectionary without it as they contain so much sugar!

Ugh. Was that Reds True Barbecue by any chance? There's one (two now) in Leeds and they serve said 'donut burger'.

I was in M&S today and their 'ultimate' burger buns were brioche. Noooooo!

Yes it was reds! The other meals were fab but the donut burger was certainly a strange one!

Do they? Ok i did not know that. i have tried this Brioche bun and burger thing, i got the Brioche buns from Aldis. it is ok but not as nice as a good old white burger bun.

i think it is so it sounds better for snobs when they say they have a Brioche bun

I only have plain burgers anywhere, just a Burger in a bun with a bit of Tomato sauce. I may have some cheese on it now and again. the last time I went to weatherspoons I had a plain cheese burger.

No. It's because some people like the flavour and consistency of a brioche bun. There's nothing snobby about it - it's just a different type of bread.

Yes, that's how most people choose their food, based on how snobby it is.

Notice the smiley.

I make our own burgers, using lamb, pork, beef and mixtures. The bread we use will include Brioche, plain, 'wraps' and Pita bread...variety is the spice of life after all. I honestly can't see a problem using different breads with burgers.

We are thinking of going the home made route for burgers and Sausages for tomorrow when we have the BBQ. My friend have a sausage filler which we can both use, She is better them me, but then i been out of practice for a while

i think it depends on prices when we go and have a look at the meat later on today. Not sure what else we are getting. got to get some rolls that have been ordered and should be waiting for us from a local baker.

The brioche bun doesn't look appetising at all. It looks burnt.

Burgers per se are not 'fine dining'.

Well, not until the Hoxton hipsters get hold of them.

Not related to brioche buns, but when I was in Amsterdam crispy onions were a huge, huge thing over there. Hot Dogs with cripsy onions on them was as normal as putting ketchup on chips. They tasted amazing too!1

If that's normal then it shouldn't be.
