Channel 5 has produced some really brilliant celebrity series ( I think almost everyone would put CBB9 and CBB13 up there with the best series of the celebrity format , with maybe only cbb4 better , and I loved cbb12 as well) which have enjoyed great ratings (especially cbb13 which was the first since bb7 where the final got more viewers then the launch) but the normal series just hasn't had as much luck , why is this?

I think they put more effort in to CBB than they do with the normal series and it shows

the celeb ones I think have been a good 7/10 but still not as good as ch4 days

regarding civvy, the biggest mistake I think was stopping a countrywide audition process for real people who have never been in the public eye

its cheaper for c5 to ring someones agent than interview 1000s

so civvy BB fails because its changed so much from its original concept . i think

Partly down to changing tastes (the novelty of watching [mostly] unknown people for ten weeks has worn off as the social experiment factor has too) and partly down to the fact that Channel 5's vision works best in a three week period, whereas they tend to run out of ideas when they have treble that.

Even with no **** **** we know the zelebs so know how they think and operate

We know NOTHING about the normals if you can call them normals these days given the standard of housemates, and we only have their vague cryptic information to work with

But really only two of the channel 4 celeb series were actually any good (cbb3 and cbb4) cbb5 doesn't even bear thinking about , cbb6 was horrible and depressing and far more lazy then anything c5's put out , the only good part was ulrika winning , cbb7 was good but ruined by vinnie.

In fact I would go as far as to say that as a whole the c5 cbb's are actually better then the c4 ones

Really CBB9 and CBB13 were to best Celeb Big Brother's ever and they were both on Channel 5 .

The last cbb was the best ever cbb although Luisa should have won.

However I do think the last one was their equivalent of bb5 and that was the peak and everything will be downhill now

To be honest I think I still prefer civvy version, I know its far from great but I prefer it still, and always have. maybe cause its on longer and theres less of the so called celeb pedestal were they think just cause they did some tv or sang some song once that they are better than everyone.. I think the civvy one flows better, I still watch the celeb version though as sometimes its good.

I've just rewatched the Liz and luisa bath scene again and it still makes me laugh. Cbb13 just came together so perfectly , love them or hate them all the housemates (except evander but thankfully he went first and Sam who wasn't actually on the show let's be honest ) brought something interesting and different to the show.

It still shocks me how they went from producing such a successful series in just January to the rubbish showing for this series. i was out of curiosity watching some clips from CBB13 the other night and things like Jasmine rentering the house and Lee's shock eviction were just pulled off so much more effectively and really had everyone gripped to the shpw than anything we've gotten this summer. They stuck gold with a good chunk of luck with that series I could only imagine how good it would have been with a decent set of livefeed...

I think the fact that there is two a year highlight that they care more about the Celeb version than the regular version . Also it being being Vote To Save helps matters as well.

The vote to save thing is so true , Natalie and Kirk (my favourite bb eviction ever) would never have happened with vote to save , also the cbb12 boo order was absolutely perfect with Danielle , Ron , Sophie , Bruce , Dustin all going at the right time , I'd go as far as to say it was the only series of big brother ever where all the best housemates made the final

Cbb on channel five is far better prepared than civilian bb. Have to say bb bosses just haven't planned bb 15 adequately and its suffering as a result.

More successful in terms of ratings, but I don't think I've ever really enjoyed a CBB - except perhaps the very first one, for Comic Relief, because it was somewhat unique.

Their attention span can only last a few weeks. With the length of the civilian series, they get restless and start over-compensating to try and keep the momentum going.

Two obvious reason - People know the housemates from the off (well a few of them at least), and it's less of a commitment (3 weeks instead of 10).

9 and 13 were two great series, but Channel 5 have produced some of the worst series also. 11 was the worst BB that's ever been, 8 and 12 were awful too. It always comes down to how lucky they are with the cast, because their production values are terrible.

Normal BB on Channel 5 is the worst thing on television. Because Channel 5 wanted their own version of TOWIE and couldn't be arsed (Yeah typical Channel 5) to create a new show they decided to ruin an existing one, many people have been driven away and they are failing to attract the teenage girl audience they are desperate for.

CBB is much better than it was on Channel 4 though. I didn't watch the first 2 CBB's on Channel 5 but the others have been great.

And the idiotic bosses are trying to engineer for Winston to clinch it.

I'm not watching but I am aware that Winston is a moron from the clips I've seen and after seeing him on Girlfriends & EastEnders. They think that all the teenage girls will vote for an average looking Essex Tw*t to win.

Most people want someone else to win.

Whoever wins will be decided by the producers.
