Tatie Pie!
What is it? Anyone have a recipe? It seems to be a Lancashire dish, but I'm not sure.
Thanks!

I have been brought up with tatie pie! We have it with or without meat, but could be a family thing! Basic recipe is diced potatoes and onions cooked in beef stock, with the option of adding meat. You can either boil or bake in the oven and then add a pastry lid. We would use either minced beef or chuck steak but some people use corned beef. You also get variations where there can be carrots, swede etc added but I find simple is best!

You can make it at home of course but your classic potato pie comes from the chip shop and looks like this.......
http://www.fry-online.co.uk/perch/re...o-pie-2-ck.png It's basically potato and mutton in a pie and is absolutely delicious...... It's one of the things I miss most since leaving Lancashire |

So it seems as if it's actually meat and tatie pie? Somehow I'm disappointed
