Aunt Babe' s entrance into EE back in January was fab- her cuddliness and her cockney accent coupled with the hilarious robin reliant was pure comedy but now Babe is back...but she is tough and rather ruthless according to Annette Badland who plays Babe...definitely a touch of Arsenic In the Marshmallow...I look forward to lots more Babe.

Do you think she was called Babe, because she was a babe back in the day? A very odd name.

Why? So you can criticize them.

Not at all. Im just intrigued why you praise a frumpy character and big her up as an iconic comedy character. I havent laughed once.

Character is completely pointless. If she wasnt there nobody would be sitting thinking - "What the Carters need is a frumpy old woman who drives a 3 wheeler car"

There is more to Babe than meets the eye and it's
fab to have a good actress in Annette Badland playing her.

If any of the older crowd needs the boot it's Mo- she gets on my wick.

Love this character and how she's subverted expectations.

I remember people thinking she'd be the pointless comic relief or the new Heather. She's very interesting.

Babe is interesting. She is subtle and a woman of few words but what she does say hits home.

I wouldn't want to guess. The term has absolutely no currency; it makes no sense.

My opinion on Aunt Babe is that she is a sour old bitch who's resentful of other people's happiness.

Marshmallows are soft, which is what Babe seems to be like from the outside but deep within she seems to have a poisonous edge to her character.

I could not have explained it more eloquently Scrabbler.

Tesphen you have learned something new!

I'm definitely intrigued by Babe. The marshmallow and arsenic analogy sums her up completely. She has an agenda imo, did you see her smiling at Mick then as soon as he disappeared, she scowled!
Interesting how to the other Carters she is bubbly and cuddly but then to Stan and Shirley she shows her more dark and angry side? Has anyone else noticed this?
Her comments last night about men were very telling imo.

I learnt nothing. The term still has no currency, you can't hobble together a phrase and expect it to have meaning.

In any case, Babe does not appear soft at all.
