I actually Believe Mark in that Video and yes while he has over exaggerated how upset he was ,he has basically told it how it was ,We have no idea how long he spent in the Diary room before he went into Iris ,as BB didn't see fit to show us this ,Or show us why it was Mark that went and Named Ash ,when it's been Ashleigh talking to Iris for everything else

I would truly love for one or both of them to turn around and just say it's none of your business, we made our choices and our reasons are our own.”

I wholly agree, but Helen will search the kitchen drawers for all the knives she can find and get her gang to use them.

He originally said he agreed with putting Steven up and he did not fight for Ash lol, he also just said he would have put up christopher instead of ash.. wonder how that'd make him feel

One can only hope.

So if Helen or Ash had the power they wouldn't have nominated Ashleigh and possibly Chris? Helen seems to think that the power housemates have really done the wrong thing by nominating Ash, but they were put in that position and what does she expect, it's not like her group are very welcoming to Ashleigh and Chris. They are all getting on better now so the nomination don't necessarily mean they don't like that person or that they are being nasty to them, they just mean they like the others more.

I lost a bit of respect for Mark there, He kept saying to Ashleigh and Chris how as power housemates they'll need to be able to stand by their decisions and explain them calmly, but he's pretty much just gone and put all the blame for both Steven (fair enough he wasn't involved but he said to Ashleigh that Steven was the only person he'd decided on to nominate in an online video yesterday) and Ash's nominations on Ashleigh and Chris.
The three of them should have stuck together and the rest of the house should be grown ups and accept that the three phms were put in that position and had to chose someone. If they think about it carefully maybe they'll realise that they put those 4 up because they're only other options were their best friend Christopher and Winston who's pretty harmless.

Zoe and Pav as far as I can see took the decision like grown ups and accepted it.

Two of the problems there are that they don't think about it from a different perspective ever and that they don't act like grown ups , as you say

Exactly and when he was picked he was discussing the fact that it would all kick off when the others discovered who the power housemates where so hence his speech tonight to the cool gang, throwing the other two under the bus, dispicable, he has no balls

What a little sh*t ... Ashleigh was spot on that he couldn't deal with the pressure...and he certainly picked his corner. Silly silly boy. It's a game and coming into final weeks so pickings aren't easy ... what a fool.

I can't believe how quick they are to jump down each others throats and they never listen. Ashleigh is one of the few who does think things through. Helen is obviously the worst for throwing accusations about and shouting before she's considered the position the others were in. It's not like they are the youngest group of housemates we've had, I'm younger than most of them and I've never seen any of my friends or people my age act the way they do in the house.

They ARE real, Mark said he didn't want to pick Ash, quite clearly, several times, but he was overruled by the other two. I don't blame him for wanting to explain to his friends. However, I shall have a hard time forgiving him for even thinking about Christopher to nominate.

I agree that what he's doing is covering his arse, which we all would do to one degree or another - which Chris did when confronted after being overheard twice before, what any person does to protect themselves when under attack (for want of a better word), it's human nature. My only wish is that they would all stand up to the questioning and say it's nobody's business and they chose who they chose, did what they had to do, deal with it.

I don't object to Mark covering his arse, even if he is exaggerating the story - we would expect that from Mark, it is how he is. Not for one minute did I ever expect him to be any different than this after seeing his calm involvement in the selection of Ash and then his performance in the control room with Iris ... which is not to say it isn't annoying to watch, cause it is, but it's not surprising considering he wants to keep Helen and Ash onside and that they are actually prepared to listen to him and give him the benefit of the doubt due to his position in the house, he knows that too.

"I really fought to save Ash"

No you didn't.

Mark also contradicts himself by saying that Ashleigh thought there was only going to be 3 PHMs, but then slipped up at one point by saying that they thought a 4th one was going to be picked. Then went back to saying that they thought there was only going to be three of them again.

But even worse probably is that Mark told Chris and Ashleigh that when everything is revealed, Helen and Ash will give him hell....but that he can handle them

I didn't expect him to be this desperate. I thought he would be calm and rational and make it clear that people had to be nominated with such small numbers in the house.
Similarly to what he told Ash in last night's HL show.

Notice how BB themselves have titled the video on their channel?
"Mark comes clean about the Power"

Comes clean.
How is that coming clean?
How can anybody say that BB don't try to manipulate the truth or that they're not biased one way or another if they title this video like that?

I saw you re-posted what he said in the control room, but that wasn't necessary anyway as I Sky+ the show so I re-watched it.

The whole persona and nature of how he conducted his duties in the power alliance were completely misrepresented when he was relaying it back to Helen, Steven and Ash. There's little point saying otherwise as if you watch the scene in the control room and then, more damningly, the very final scene of tonight's episode, then contrast it with his 'confession' in the bedroom to Helen and cohorts then surely *anybody* could see the glaring discord.”

sycophantic fanaticism

That's the term I've been looking for! Thanks

IMO Mark is not as clever as he thinks he is and he acted before he put his brain into gear. He slipped up and broke his own cardinal rule i.e. look at the bigger picture and, first and foremost, please the public. His desperation to keep things sweet with Ash and Helen has made him forget all that - he's cosied up to them while throwing Ashleigh and Chris under that bloody bus. Might allow for his continued popularity in the house with his bestest buddies, but will likely, and obviously has (on here at least), alienated much of the viewing audience. For my part It isn't really about whether or not he actually fought Ash's corner and then rolled around on the control room floor for an hour in angsty despair at having to nominate him; it's about the fact that he immediately ran and told tales to protect himself without a thought for the others and didn't stay loyal to the alliance and enable them to present a united front. Short-sighted. That veneer of fair-to-all-funtime-Charlie is just that, a veneer, and a very thin veneer it is too. I think I already knew that but I'm surprised the mask slipped quite so quickly and unthinkingly.

Yes! It's the first time he hasn't calculated his reaction to suit the public. We've seen him stand up to Helen before, this could have been his winning moment if he'd say back and thought about it, but he weasled out, for in house popularity. Christopher needs to get rid!
